    Hi ladies,

I'm 25 weeks today and I was hoping you may be able to enlighten me on how much movement I should feel!

I started feeling movement at about 20/21 weeks (I have an anterior placenta but I think it's quite high up) and gradually the movements seem to be have gotten stronger.

When our little girl is active I can see my stomach moving around, and my hubby can see/feel it too, so I think her movements have gotten quite strong, but I thought the movements would be a bit more consistent by now?

I've had a couple of phases now where I've gone 3 or 4 days with barely feeling anything, just the odd kick here and there - even when sitting down doing nothing for a while - and then she becomes more active again, but when I'm at work and being active I really don't feel anything still.

When should I start to monitor movements more? I thought at 25 weeks the movements would be strong enough to be felt most of the time, so I'm quite surprised to be going such long periods with her quiet.

This is a bit rambled, sorry! I just wanted to hear everyone else's experiences really - I do get quite worried when she's being quiet!

    Thanks
    Kat xx

I went through the same thing at your stage. I posted on here about it and loads of people came back saying that they too had had a lot of movement and then it became less consistent and then picked up again. And thats what happened to me too, I wonder if they maybe have a bit of a growth spurt at 24 - 27 weeks and they need to conserve thier energy! It sounds normal but if you are worried contact your mw xx

Thanks very much for your responses, they're really reassuring. I thought it might be a bit later on that the movement becomes more regular, and it's really reassuring to hear that is the case!

Since posting this she's given me a few hard kicks in my bladder to make sure I know she's doing okay - very kind of her!!

I do wonder if my quieter periods are because she's facing to the back or something, as generally either the movements are all really low down around my bladder etc, or they're all over the front of my bump, so it would make sense that it might just be her positioning at the time.

    Thanks again xx

    Hi MrsKP

i could almost have written that post myself, up until two weeks ago i was getting regular good strong kicks, and literally since last tuesday i have had the odd movement and am now constantly worrying! i did go to hospital as they said best to get checked and heartbeat was fine and measuring fine etc, but still hardly anything - i am even eating Jam donuts in the hope that something sugary will get peanut on the move!

i have an AP too which the midwife said will contribute greatly to the lack of movement, and also still alot of room to move around in and we wouldn't necessarily feel it all the time anyway,

i am sure everything is fine with you and your bubs and you will be getting really strong movememennts on a regular basis any day now

hey hun , didnt want to R&R , this is a hard question for an unexperienced individual to awnser as movement varies from pregnancy - pregnancy .. It all depends on the size of you , the size of the baby , how much amnotic fluids you have .. etc ! your best to ask your MW this question as she can give you the best estimated awnser for you .

    good luck hun ,

    Hello hun

I have had a AP with both babys. The movements didn't get regular at all until 28 weeks with this little one... it was very upsetting as sometimes i would only feel him 2-3 times a day but its as if someone switched a switch at 28 weeks and that was it he didn't and doesn't stop! He is so active xx

Hi Ive read that when your active, you dont notice the movements as much and i find thats true! If im at work or walking around i tend not to notice them, But esp in the evenings and in bed in the morning they tend to be his 'awake periods' and he doesnt stop moving, Ive also noticed i can feel him turning now its not just kicks, Im sure your baby is fine hun your just keeping busy so your not noticing it as much.
