    Afternoon ladies,

How much weight did you all gain in the first trimester? I have had no morning sickness and I found that I had to eat to stave off any nausea for a good few weeks. I also found myself only really wanting junk food!

I've put on about 4lb so far which I'm not overly impressed with, I don't want to gain too much throughout the pregnancy (obviously) as I know how much of a pain it will be to lose it.

I am going to make more of an effort to eat healthier options now that I'm feeling a lot more like myself again, so hopefully this will stop me gaining too much additional weight - other than the expected.

I do eat my 5 portions of fruit and veg, I just find myself snacking on crisps and chocolate as well, and eating convenience food more than I normally would! I will also add that I was fairly slim when I got pregnant too and although I know BMI's don't count for much, mine was 21.5.

I've rambled a bit here as all I was trying to ask was how much everyone else has gained!

    Kat xx

hey I put on 7lbs by 12 weeks I had to eat to stop feeling sick and I could only stomach certain things (mostly McD's)

pre preg I was size 8/10 and my BMI was slightly under 21, now at 20 + 3 I've gained about 16/17lbs all together and fully expect to gain 35lbs by the end (I'm constantly starving!!) but I'm also tall so maybe this makes a difference too, I couldnt really excercise to begin with as I was too tired but now I've got some energy back I'm getting back on my excercise bike and treadmill but just taking it easy gentle cycling and walking! I know how frustrating it is putting on weight when you're useually slim- most of the girls in my due in forum lost weight which made me feel even more of a heiffer lol x

I didn't gain any weight until about 16 weeks I don't think. I didn't start showing till about 22 weeks though. I think I've gained about a stone and a half, maybe nudging 2 now through pregnancy. Have a few weeks left so sure this will increase. The midwife said to me that the first 12 weeks they don't worry too much about weight gain or loss as it depends so heavily on sickness etc. Xxx

ahhh Mich - glad its not just me who had a Mcd thing in the first trimester.

I've been really lucky so far as i'm tall and nothing on me to begin with - i've been eating nothing but crap (as you know Kat since 5weeks and so i was absolutley anticipating putting on weight. However, i've kept a weight diary and I weight the same as I did at 4weeks so fingers crossed cashew bean is stealing the fat before my body gets a chance to absorb it )

    xx

i put on 8lbs in the first trimester, i'm now 25+4 and i have put on 1st 2lbs which im ok with.. my baby is estimated to weigh about 1lb 10oz so that's nearly 2lbs + whatever the amniotic fuid and placenta weigh, so i have actually gained less than a stone from eating...x

I'm quite tall also - 5'7, but I think it's just because I have a stomach now it makes me feel like more of a heffer! I know that I'm bound to get bigger but I also know that some of that stomach is me eating too much!!

I have heard lots of people say they lost weight in the first trimester too which doesn't help with my worrying about overdoing it! xx

Ive just weighed myself now :-O
I am 20+1, 6 ft tall and this is baby No3. I lost a very small amount of weight in the frist 12 weeks and now ive weighed myself ive gained 8 1/2 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im not happy. It was only a few weeks ago (maybe 2 or 3) that id gain 4 1/2 lbs so im panicing that im bn fatty now.
I gain over 4 st with jack but only 12lbs with olly (as i didnt loose it all or much for that matter after jack)
With jack tho i was underweight.
    Olly over weight - just
and this time bang on average so i think that has a lot to do with things.
I think re height its just good for hiding weight gain :-P

I can't remember how much I'd gained by 12 weeks, but it was certainly (a lot) more than 4lbs!! 29weeks today and have now put on about 2st5lb! My BMI was also 21 pre-pregnancy and I'm quite tall 5'9". I havent really put on weight anywhere apart from my bump. Knew I was gonna put on more as was doing slimming world all last year until I got my bfp. I really wouldn't about 4lbs hun x

My weight gain has slowed down over the past few weeks, but fully expecting to carry on with at least another lb a week!
Sounds like we've done simplar things too hun, first 12 weeks became a carb addict to stave of the nausea, then my appetite ballooned, worse thing now is the past 2 weeks have had major pmt-like choc cravings..oh well they say eating choc = happy baby lol xx

My BMI was similar to yours before I started (21.3) - I put on 4lb in the first trimester and have now put on 1st 8lb at 31 weeks. I'm aiming to put on no more that 2st in total, but we'll see how we go over the next few weeks!
