I think I may have just got a positive on an IC test I had leftover from my youngest. It was still in date and the line appeared within the time frame. The line itself is very very faint and I hardly noticed it but because it was on the white sink it just caught my eye. I have tried taking a picture but it doesn't show up. I'm not even sure when AF is due as my cycles still haven't settled down. It was only because I've been feeling really nauseous and extra tired the last few days that I tested as those were the only symptoms I had with my youngest.
I'm absolutely cr*pping myself at the prospect of having another as we just don't have the money or space right now. We have been careful every time we've dtd so it will be a big shock if it was indeed positive. I'm going to try and nip out and get a CBD for tomorrow.
I hope I haven't come across as insensitive as I know there's a few people on here having a hard time but I'm not sure what else to do at the moment. Other than pace the floor with the IC in my hand.

They are generally reliable if used in date and within the timeline - I have heard of them occasionally giving a false positive, but it's very rare. Sending a , sounds like you need one. xx

I'd say IC's are more likely to give you a false negative than false positive. I could hardly see my positive on my IC yet a superdrug digital said very clearly 2-3 weeks pregnant.
If you can get out to get a digital one then do. Sorry it's not the best timing for you and hope it all ends up as you want it xxx

if you can get a CBD, then do - i've never been one for interpreting lines, i need words in front of me.
i can TOTALLY understand the shock of a surprise BFP (if it is). we're all here for hand holding and no judging x
25/03/2013 at 12:28
I would try and get out and get one if you can, even just to put your mind at rest. You dont have to wait until tomorrow to do one xx
25/03/2013 at 12:35
I too would be nipping out for a cbd. I hope it's the answer you want x
25/03/2013 at 12:41
I would feel exactly the same in your position at the moment- I would grab a CBD and test today and in the morning as mainly I'm impatient! Hope you get the answer you want cx
25/03/2013 at 12:43
Mine accurately showed my BFP but it wasn't as sensitive as the CB I bought after as the line was so faint on the IC
25/03/2013 at 12:53
They can sometimes show evap lines but in my experience the lines were lighter than other brands.
If you can go and get a test today I would, another 24 hours is a long time to wind yourself up about a maybe.
My number 3 was a huge surprise (not sure how many you already have?) I found out on number 2's 1st birthday. I can totally relate to the shock I always wanted a 3rd, H adamantly didn't. He took a couple of weeks to adjust. 3 is now 19 weeks old and honestly the most lovely baby, we are all so happy and H even says now that had he known then he would have chosen to try for 3.
I hope I'm not speaking out of turn. I hope you get the answer you want, I think you need to get a definate answer before you worry about anything else xx

I agree I think in your situation you need to know or you won't rest. I would def do a brand name one.
25/03/2013 at 14:18
Thanks ladies. I'm going to do another test later on as I've just been to the loo.
KT - not speaking out of turn at all. H has sort of agreed to another, but not for a few years or until we have the space and money.
I'm going to look like a right lemon now if its negative aren't I?
25/03/2013 at 14:34
Deafinately get a CBD or similar and put your mind at rest. I have no expereince of ICs but I didn't believe boots own brand until I did a CBD with words
25/03/2013 at 14:38
My ICs were always right. My 2nd was a complete shock. I'd got a 4 month old and thought we were being careful. Things turned out fine though and we're glad we ended up with a small gap even though it's been really hard. Get yourself a CBD, and i hope you get the result you want xx
25/03/2013 at 14:46
Hope you get the result you want on a cbd
25/03/2013 at 15:00
if its a dip strip, I find that the sticks have quite a bad indent where its supposed to turn pink and, when held at a certain angle, can look like a positive but if its a pink line you see then maybe thats not the case... hope it works out for you x

When we went for our first MW appointment When I was pregnant with W I was really surprised she didn't want to do a test and was just taking my word for it. She said home pregnancy tests are now so accurate it is so so unlikely that you would ever have a false negative, and that because I had took two tests there was no way it was wrong.
I would go buy a Cbd and test today. The longer you leave it the more you will stress. At least once you have a definite answer you know where you stand.
I hope things work out for you x x

Ours is a real surprise baby too, so I know the mixed feelings you have, and no-one would judge you here. I only truly believed it was happening when I saw the words on a CBD. Let us know how you get on x
25/03/2013 at 17:24
I am going to so ignorant but what is an IC test?
If you can then get a digital test as you can't mistake words in front of you, looking for lines etc can be frustrating and confusing. I hope you get the result you want xxx
25/03/2013 at 18:00
I've always found them reliable personally. As other said, get a CBD or another test and try again. Hope it works out for you whatever way it goes. Best of luck.
Chimpanzee - ic = internet cheapie

Good luck. I hope you get the result that you want x
