anyone got got any tips to help my nervous, clingy three year old?
nervous at groups
terrified of any loud noise
quite happy and talkative and intelligent at home, but doesn't look happy at groups or play dates. v nervous, clingy and does not talk much. When we leave her with family for couple of hours she stops eating and drinking. she seems so tired at the min. I always worry about her. She does make progress and the. There just needs to be one little incident and we're back to square one. This has been going on for nearly a year.
Anyones children been been like this? Tips? Strange thing is, she wants to go to groups and had moments where she's excited. She is slow to warm up to social events. Just takes her while to feel comfortable. But recent v busy soft play and swimming she was find!!!! What's going on? Another example - she adores a family member until he blew his nose. Hates that noise and won't go near him now...v nervous and wary...
also even walking down street she goes through phases of being wary of passers by. She clings to me a bit and hides behind me. This wears off and then another incident and it starts again. Same with other children. She'll be happy with them and then scared again.
We really praise her and try to build her confidence. I have sadly found myself snapping at her recently though :-(
H and i are struggling. Help!

Blossom do you ever read the replies to the threads you post? I'm sure this is at least the 3rd time you've asked these questions and you always get replies but never seem to respond on the post again. Few weeks later another one asking the same thing pops up :/
