I am 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I don't have my first scan for another week and a half. This girl work with was about 3 weeks farther along than me, she had her 1st scan and there was no heartbeat! I AM SO SCARED granted I know that has nothing to do with me but she was cramping, still "felt pregnant" an so do I... I am just way too impatient for this ultrasound and she's got me terrified... there's no way of telling if my baby is ok before the appointment, right? sorry to ramble but you ladies always seem to calm my nerves

Hi New Mommy Ashley, it's understandable to be freaked out. I unfortunately had the same experience as your work colleague last year and there was just no way to know. I guess there's a few things to look out for, are you still having strong symptoms, sore breasts blue veins etc? Are you still getting bigvery áll are good signs. I didn't notice then but realise now the symptoms started to reduce early last year. Alternatively you could pay for a private scan for reassurance

I am feeling exactly like you! I am 9 weeks pregnant but my first scan isn't for another 3 weeks and I'm so worried as well! The internet can be great for some things, but horrible for worrying yourself! I'm still feeling really tired and nauseous a lot of the time, but haven't gained any weight yet....I'm not sure if that's just because I've been eating a lot less because I feel so bad all the time!
Good luck with everything! I know it doesn't stop the worrying, but I did read that 'missed miscarriages' where you go for the scan and there just isn't a heartbeat, happen a very small percentage of the time! So fingers crossed for both of us that it's all normal!
When is is your due date? Mine is December 17th.

Butterfly31 I am so sorry you had that experience and my heart truly does go out to you. I don't think any man can understand how worried us pregnant woman get for reasons like that. I am still tired all the time, sore breast, & cramping (nothing severe), but literally I am tired ALL THE TIME lol I feel like a zombie!
Samfirstbaby oh wow! thank God I'm not the only one feeling this way... I'm so scared I'm going to go to my first scan and not see anything but I'm sure you can understand what I mean there sense you're a first time mommy as well. I'm 8 weeks and 4 days, my due date is December 22nd (Crazy cause that's my dads bday) but everyones telling me your due date changes your 1st scan.

Thanks NewmommyAshley, it's hard being a woman eh. Thats good you've got strong symptoms, sign that things are progressing. I'd be careful with extreme tiredness as you could be anemic. When's your first midwife appointment?
Hi Samfirstbaby, i was the same felt so ill old barely eat ended up losing about 6 lbs. Starting to put it back on now as symptoms are wearing off they said it was cause the yolk sac was still there. Hope you feel better soon xx

It's very common to feel like this, I did with both my pregnancies (especially after a mc in-between them). The other thing I would say is DON'T PANIC if your symptoms do tail off.
I had no morning sickness at all, was a bit more tired but that was it, no sore boobs, no increased weight. I didn't feel pregnant, didn't look pregnant, nothing. But I still was.
Unfortunately sometimes these things happen in terms of your friends experience, but there's nothing that you can do but sit tight and try not to worry x worrying is all part of pregnancy (and parenthood!) though!

I've barely had any symptoms so when I was waiting for my 12 week scan I felt like crying, cuz my previous pregnancy ended in early m/c I was afraid of what I might see,of having a missed one. All fears í shouldn't of had cuz everything was perfect and baby happened to be asleep at the time,so needed to walk and dance about to wake Bubba up for sizing lol.
So my advice is stop with negative thoughts, and just believe it will go how it's meant to.your baby can feel your emotions through blood, sadness and fear triggers hormones that reach thebaby.as so does happiness and other emotions.
I'm sure your 12 week scan will be perfect x

Thanks, Helen! I just recently joined the December babies group, so easy to miss! Definitely looking forward to chatting to some people on there!
Thanks Butterfly31. I feel bad for my poor fiance, he doesn't get to cook much these days because even the smells of most foods make me feel really bad!
Newmommy Ashley, your due date is not far from mine! They will be nice early Christmas presents!

My first can is next Tuesday and I couldn't be more ready for it, I just hate that I didn't get one at 8 weeks, then I probably wouldn't be freaking out so much now. You ladies are the best support though, which is why I love this site!
& a nice Christmas present indeed! I'm so ready for my little peanut to get here!
