Has anyone ever been diagnosed with HYDRONEPHOROSIS please?
I was rushed in to hospital on Wed afternoon with what they thought was Appendicitis. I was put on a ward and put on a drip, having anti biotics and pain relief. They found I had an infection in my blood.
On Thursday I had an USS which showed I had HYDRONEPHOROSIS. I was still on a drip and put on anti biotics via IV.
Friday I was still really ill and they thought I was going to need an operation to put a stint in to my kidney, I was still on a drip baring in mind I hadnt ate for 3 days and was being sick none stop they then thought I had hypernemesis.
Saturday the Dr came to see me and I was allowed to eat, luckily! I was told that even though I was in pain OBS AND GYNAE habe said I can manage with pain relief at home, I will still have lack of energy and I would also be in a lot more pain as the kidney gets bigger as my pregnacy progresses.. I was then asked did I want to continue with my pregnancy as the kidney could end up severly damaged and I will have lack of energy and a lot more pain. I told them I do want t continue with pregnancy!!
I am scared as I am so scared of the lack of energy I will have, the pain I am going to go through and on top of that how bad my kidney is going to become.
I have always had problems with my left kidney but my hydronephorosis is in my right kidney. I am so scared and so upset and so confused. I am likely to end up back in hospital through pain and will need regular monitoring after 20 weeks to see how bad my kidneys are getting. I may also be induced early if my kidneys are getting worse and I can't stand the pain.
ALL I ever wanted in the world was to be pregnant and to become a mum as I have PCOS and got told it would be highly unlikely I could fall pregnant naturally. AND now I am I feel I can not enjoy pregnancy.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SAY I AM NOT ALONE.
Thanks for reading.
