After 4 night / 5 days I am home. The only trouble is that we don't actually knwo what is wrong with me, the life threatening thing (pulmonary embollism) was ruled out by a scan this morning but I still have all my symptoms and it has been put down to "pregnancy" so I just have to get on with it for the next 13 weeks.
I have an irregular heartbeat (missing one in 6) and I have a very high pulse rate combined with low iron. I am getting really breathless and lightheaded doing anything more than laying in bed which isn't exactly ideal. I'm really hoping that the iron tablets will help however I am trying to get as prepared as possible now for probably being unable to do very much as all for the last trimester.
The VQ scan was horrible, had to lay flat on my back while they do the photo things and each one took 5 mins. I had to keep asking to come out of the machine because it felt like baby was crushing my lungs. They then got me to breath some gas with a nose clip on that they could then see in my lungs, then injected me with something that put die in my blood that they could see, and more photos after each of those. Was in there about 45 mins altogether ... and after all of that they couldn't see a problem.

I didn't realise you were ill! Sounds like a bit of a traumatic week! Hope the iron soon takes effect and you feel a bit more human x

Jeez that sounds like absolutely no fun in the slightest. Hope it resolves itself - have you considered spatone instead of iron tablets? I've sworn by them in the last few weeks, they have been a lifesaver for me (I didn't fancy the constipation). At least it's not a PE.

Glad you're home and that they've ruled out the pulmonary embolism. Hopefully the iron tablets will help you to feel a bit better soon x

Bluewater, I tried spatone last time round and it didn't raise my iron levels hardly at all. I didn't get constipated on the iron last time (was rather worried by this having had a haemarroidectomy earlier in the pregnancy). I did buy spatone the other week so might take both of them.

I'm so glad you're home and that the scan ruled out a PE, but I wish they'd been able to fix you, or at least give you more answers.
Did your H manage to sort some help whilst he's away?

BG, he has arranged to work from home for the whole of this week and has actually told them that I am pregnant. We are speaking to a couple of nanny agencies tomorrow to see what they can offer.
