I keep getting these really uncomfortable feelings in my lower belly like baby is pushing down into my pelvis and trying to get out. I had been getting these feelings on and off for a couple of weeks, but just in the last day or so it's seems to be a lot more frequent. I'm sure that there isn't anything to worry about and it is just baby getting itself ready to make its grand entrance (i'm 36 weeks today) but it does take my breath away when it happens.
Has anyone else felt this kind of sensation?

Yup, a few weeks back I was really paranoid it was labour but now I just think it's the sheer size of my huge baby running out of space. Worse if I try and walk quickly

sounds normal I got a really heavy feeling in the last few weeks and just had to take things a bit slower - not long to go now!

I got a lot of these with #1, I put it down to baby starting to engage and the head moving further down into the pelvis - I remember having a really bad turn in the middle of M&S at about 37 weeks which scared my mum!
Yes I've had these too. Sorry to say they haven't gone though am 39 weeks tomorrow.

Thanks Ladies, I didn't think it was anything to worry about, but i wondered if anyone else had felt similar. I just keep thinking that if i'm uncomfortable now, just wait! It's only going to get worse!! I did kind of hurry to catch a bus this afternoon, so that's maybe why it's been just that little bit worse than usual.

Sounds silly but trying keeping legs together when getting in and out of car and bed etc. don't push trolleys and try and walk steadily.

I get this. I also get a sharp 'pain' right down low practically in my bits especially when getting up or sitting down! I do constantly feel like my waters are about to pop or baby is going to pop out so I'm sure it's pretty normal but I do wonder how going to walk around another two weeks like this!

Bea - that's what the physio woman said at my antenatal class too. I'm trying to do that now, but it's changing the habits of a lifetime!
Libby - thats what it feels like, I get the sharp pains too. H is getting a bit worried, but I will be letting him know it's all completely normal!

Weight wise, yes! Definately! Whenever LO pushes down, they push their bum up into the top of the bump and it feels like they're attempting to do a handstand in there! It's so strange!
