Now my lochia has stopped i have noticed I am a bit incontinent - i seem to be constantly leaking a small amount rather than just when i sneeze etc I had a third degree tear and am still quite sore. Does anyone know if this will be permanent?! I also have weaker bowels and less fart control!! in other words totally knackered nethers! please tell me it improves! or what your experiences are...

I had a 3rd degree tear but luckily apart from having to go 'now' when i need to go iyswim I've been ok. I'd really recommend seeing you gp and asking fir a physio referral if you haven't been - I saw a fantastic womens health physio who checked everything out and gave me exercises to do. I think that made a assuve difference for me xx

It took me a while to get back to normal but it did improve vastly. It's not back to 100%, but it is so much better than it was.
Oh i had forgotten about this post labour joy

I had no fart control for a good few weeks but it's fine now. It was so embarrassing! Now when I have a wee I think I've finished and then a little bit more comes out but I've been told to keep doing my pelvic floor exercises and it should be fine

Also wanted to say everything you've mentioned is totally 'normal' after this kind of tear, in fact the physio i saw was extremely surprised at how well healed mine was at 10 weeks, and said i had very good muscle control the thought of going and being examined was scary but i can't stress enough how glad i am that i saw her, really put my mind at ease. I was concerned at how little they actually did at my postnatal appointment, the physio did much more and if you are having trouble there's a lot they can do to help xx
