Just intrigued really... the post on the 'biggest baby' thread about the parents being an average size has made me think: Does the size/build of the mum & dad affect the size of the baby?
I'm 5'5" and a naturally slim build (size 6-8). My H is 5'10" so not especially tall, and also of a slim build. I'm assuming we'll have a sub-8lb baby but maybe there's no connection?
Was your [full term] baby roughly relative to your/your partners size?

My Mum is quite petite and slim, and me and my brothers were all 9lb + babies, although my Dad is very tall so that might have made a difference.
I'm 5'6", size 10, H is 5'8", fairly slim, but we still had a chunky 9lb baby (only 4 days late), which I was expecting as I had heard it can follow on from your mother.

My dad is 6ft4, mum is 5ft4, both previously slim build and I was 10lb, my older brother was 9.9.
I'm 5ft 9, h is 6ft 2. Both broad although not overweight. S was prem but would've been over 10lb if term. He's now tall and heavy for his age.
So for us it has worked that we're big and our baby was. And this one looks set to be even bigger!

I'm 5"4-5"5 and slim H is 5"11 and slim, our little one was 8lb 11oz One midwife who checked me in and returned the following night made the coment He is never your baby as I had had a fairly small bumo and a plump little baby
I suspected a larger than average baby was possible as my mum was 5"3 and slim and gave birth to me 9lb2oz and my sister was 10lb 2oz

I'm 5ft 3 and size 14 (pre baby weight!) and H is 5ft 9 and fairly stocky and J was 8lb 7 and B wad 10lb

I'm 5ft 6" and a size 18, H is 6ft and super skinny. J was 9lb 9oz, the exact same weight H's son with his ex was.
For us it is. With J I was 5ft 9 12st and a size 12-14. H is 6ft and has a big build. J was 9lb 6 at birth and is now 4ft 6 and 7stone at 7 years old. With A I was an 18 and a lot heavier. She was 9lb 2 at birth.

I am 5'5, size 10, H is 5'11 medium build, we were both skinny until our mid 20s. My brother and I were both just 6lbs at birth, H and his brother were around 8lbs.
All mine were between 10 and 13 days late so all similar gestations, they were girl 7lb10, girl 7lb5 then boy 10lb5 in that order. We knew no. 3 was a boy, and boys are often heavier than girls apparently, so we were expecting maybe 8lb something, over 10lb was quite a shock.

I'm 5'5 with a bmi over 30. H is 5'8 and has a healthy bmi. O was born 13 days late and weighed 5.14. I was always expecting a bigger baby.

I'm 5ft6 and a size 12 (well I was when I got pregnant, just a tiny bit left to go at the moment), H is 6ft and an average build but muscular. Both the MW and Dr estimated that J would be 7.5-8lb baised on my build- he was 9lb 8oz. My mum had warned me not to expect a small baby as both me and my brother were over 8lb and she is a petite 5ft 2, she was right.

I am 5ft6 and weighed just over 7 stone pre-pregnancy (weighed 7lb 4oz when born) and H is about 5ft 10 and very slim build (weighed 6lb13oz when born), and our LO was born a 8lb4oz, which the world and his wife has told us is really quite big considering my/our size!

My h is 6ft3 and a very muscle filled 17 stone and me 5ft and average size 10-11 build. E was born at 7lb 10.5 oz and 52cm... already over 1/3 of my height haha. Before I had my c section the guy in theatre told me she was going to be big and compared to me u guess she is but not compared to h.

I'm 5ft 8 H is 6ft 2. Neither of us slim built but we were both the smallest babies in the family. I was 6lb something and H was 8lb 2. D came out a whopping 11lb 7oz and is still on the 98th centile for height and weight. She's going to be tall x

I'm 5ft 2, size 10 (8 pre baby wah!), H is 6ft and slim. N was 7lb 8, so distinctly average!
A friend of mine has a 12lb baby and there was no clue. Neither her or her H are big.

Sorry for the late reply, can’t do it off my phone for some reason. Interesting really, doesn’t seem to be a hugely strong case for baby’s size being relative to parents size. I shall mentally prepare for a whopper just in case!
Trio, I would have been surprised by the third baby too! Nenas, I did think A was bigger than I would have expected for your size (although you did have a trooper of a bump!)

My h is 6ft4, im 5ft4. Our son was 5lb6 and daughter 7lb5. Both H and I were 6lbrs

I know you only asked for term baby weights, but Luke's birth weight was a reflection of my rubbish failing placenta. I was born 2 weeks early, so considered term, and was only 4lb because my mum had the same condition.

I've asked my MW this as well, I am 5ft3in (size 8-10) and H is about 5ft10 (medium build) and my two girls were 5lb10oz (40+8) and 5lb12oz (40+0). She just said well you aren't big so I guess I just have small babies. My SIL is about the same size as me but her H is over 6ft and they had an 8lb so something makes me think it is to do with both parents. Both H and I were 6lb-ers.
I will be massively shocked if this one is bigger than 6lb!

I don't think there is much of a correlation - I'm 5'6 (size 12) and my H is about 6' (slim build) and my two were 8lb1oz (40+1) and 8lb9.5oz (39+5). My friend and her H are not dissimilar size to us and had two 5lb something babies a week or so early. I have heard that there is a correlation between your own and siblings' birth weights and your children's birth weights though - I was born 7lb13oz a week late and my sister was 5lb10oz 6 weeks early (so would have been a good 8lb at term) and that ties in more.

I'm 5'3 and a size 14/16 and H is 6'3 and slim. P was 6lb1oz at bith. My MIL is tiny 5ft nothing and very slim and my FIL is 6ft ish. All 5 of their children were over 10lbs.
