    Hi everyone,

I've just this morning done a positive test and realised how little I know about pregnancy! Firstly, I've made an appointment to see my gp and the first appointment I can get is in ten days time, is this soon enough?

Also, I read somewhere that camomile should not be used in the first trimester, is this just in aromatherapy or does this mean tea as well?

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated, looking forward to chatting more as things develop.

    Thanks x x

firstly congrats to you! dont worry about the docs appt, doesn't need to be any sooner than that. he will chat to you about your pregnancy, work out rough dates and refer you to midwife andd for a scan, both these appts will be around the same time. as far as i remember 8-10weeks. maybe 12 weeks, it seems so long ago- a year!
not heard about chammomile tea thing, it will say on the packet if pregnant women shouldn't drink it so don't fear. do not drink raspberry leaf tea!!! this may cause m.c or birth defects if drunk befire 35 weeks, then drink 3-5 cups a day for a stretchy cervix!! lol. there is some good info on this website about foods to avoid. hope this helps claire

    Hello!

Congratulations on your news. If you are anything like me you'll discover that even as your pregnancy progresses you still know less that you ever thought! Generally its a minefield of other peoples opinions!!!

As for the tea, I have googled it and found this: http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/nutrition/foodsafety/herbalteaexpert/ have a look at that link and see if that helps.

    Good luck!

Thanks for replying, the links are good, I'll be bookmarking both pages.

I'm a little calmer now, it is reassuring that I can chat about it in here when I don't want to tell family or friends for another few weeks.
