L has been awake since 7.30, she refuses point blank to go to sleep and I've tried four times in total, I can't make her sleep but will it do any harm if she doesn't nap? 7.30 is a late wake up for her as she normally wakes at 6am and goes for a two hour nap at 10.30am. She's never been a great sleeper or napper and I ended up dropping her to one nap at 9 months as it was affecting her night time sleep. It's now 13.50 and if she falls asleep now it will affect her going to sleep tonight. I just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem or is it just my little one? TIA xx

Occasionally mine won't nap, it doesn't affect their night time sleep, but they do go down a bit earlier.

I've had a couple if occasions where O (14.5 months) just won't nap....he's now having 1 nap varying between 1-2hrs around lunchtime. No naps isn't going to effect them in any way other than possibly making them grumpy towards bedtime! Hope you she goes down easy and sleeps well for you tonight x

Pretty much what HN says. P is 15 months and has always been a fab sleeper. She briefly went to 1 nap a day soon after her birthday and is now back to 2 hour naps. However, she goes to my mums 3 days a week when i'm at work ans she will not sleep there. Occasionally she will have a half hour dose on mum but will not go down full stop. Doesn't seem to effect her at night on those days and she still naps normally here.

Thanks ladies, I popped to Sainsburys at about 3 o'clock and got back home about 4, she fell asleep just as we pulled into the drive and I carried her in and she slept for 40 minutes. It's now 8.05 and she's still awake ARGH!
