Is/was your stomach hard at 18 weeks?

Hi

Im just a bit concerned as a friend said her stomach was permenantly hard at 18 weeks. I`m 18 weeks and sometimes wake up and it feels quite hard to the touch and others i wake up and its quite squidgy. I dont feel like my stomachs grown much in the last few weeks, my DH says he thinks it has but i dont know if hes saying that just to appease me.

Ive had a scan in the last week and have a doppler and so i know there is still a baby in there with a heartbeat, but the scan didnt do measurements and im concerned its not growing as it should, hence the sometimes squidgy stomach.

Im not thin, am size 18 but didnt ever carry much weight on my belly, more on hips, thighs, well everywhere else really. Its still over 2 weeks til my 20 week scan

Just wanted some advice really. If you can give advice that would be great

    could it be braxton hicks? i know its quite early, but i started getting mine around this time (if not a bit earlier), and more noticeably in the mornings, or after sex. so sometimes my tummy feels hard, and at other times squidgy! but if your worried about it give your midwife a call

    Mine is randomly harder. Depending on what position I am in, it feels harder. Also time of the day. In the mornings, its generally squidgy! Later in the day it does get firmer. Also, it only really feels firm when I am standing up straight or lying down.

    It did cross my mind that it could be braxton hicks `cos sometimes it really does tighten up.

    Thank you girls you have both made me feel a bit more normal. Think im going to try and stop analysisng every last thing!

    Hi yer I think it does sound like braxton hicks, well the ones I'm experiencing!
    I mainly get them in bed when I wake up, I feel like a mild cramp with mine as well, not painful though.

    My tummy's hard already hun and Im between 9 and 11 weeks. Were all different so I wouldn't worry too much
