Over the last few days I've developed an insanely itchy bump - there's a slight red rash of little lumps and it seems to be slowly spreading. I've googled and it seems to be 'polymorphic eruption of pregnancy'... although I'm no doctor. I'm due tomorrow but think I'm going to be overdue so will be splashing out on some remedy today to ease the itching. I've got MW tomorrow but not expecting her to be particularly helpful. Just wondered if anyone has had this?

I had extreme itching in pregnancy but due to an allergic reaction. I was prescribed priton but doubt you are allowed that since it would make baby sleepy for the birth. It's very common for your bump to be itchy just due to the skin stretching. Try Aveno cream, bathe with a sock full of oats and maybe use calamine lotion.

Thanks TP, I'll look at all those. I'll definitely avoid any allergy meds this late in the day as there seems to be conflicting advice. Plus I've never been allergic to anything before so not sure I'd like to use them now. I did think it was just my stretching skin initially but now these lumps are coming up, and it's spreading to the top of my bump which isn't particularly stretched, making me think it's this PEP thing. Or perhaps it's a heat rash. So long as it disappears after birth I'm not too bothered!

Aveeno is great, I used it on TP's recommendation early on when all my skin crawled!!!
