J (7) came home from school with a rash all over his face. Dr has said its slapped cheek. I'm worried about A (10 months) catching it but apparently the Dr said she's too young. is that right?
Is there anything I can do to help J as he says its itchy?

I may be wrong but I'm sure babies can get it too, although I wouldn't argue it with a doctor. I just read that once the rash has appeared he probably is no longer contagious. So to look out for a being fluey over the next day or two. I'd give J piraton for the itch and maybe calpol as it can make them achy and flu like. I hope he is better soon and the rest of you escape it x

Thanks Qs. I read that too. He seems ok this morning. The Dr said to keep an eye on him if he goes off his food. He is a real gutbucket and loves his food so I'll know if he does!

All of mine have had it recently, there must be lots of it about at the moment. Pretty sure C caught it from nursery when he was around 1.
Piriton is what I gave too, they felt fine apart from having very rosy cheeks.
