S is 18 weeks and for the last couple of weeks my joints have been really stiff and sore. It's especially bad in my hips, so much so that getting up from the floor is really difficult and I'm finding stairs hard to manage. It's also in my hands and I struggle to get the lid off of the kettle!
Did anyone else have this? Is it just another delightful side effect of pregnancy and childbirth that no-one tells you about?

My sister has developed arthritis after having her son nearly a year ago, she had some similar symptoms. Hopefully it's not that but might be worth a trip to gp x

I had this after O, mainly my knees and lower back. It has got better as time has gone on but I found the main cause was changing his bum on the floor and then bending to pick him up. If any concern give the docs a call and they can run some bloods to rule out arthritis etc x

Eek, thanks both. I should probably stop putting off going to the doctors then!

Tumeric and Ginger!!! Two weeks after delivery I had severe joint pain in hand, wrists, knees and feet. It was unbearable I couldn't do daily functions like open doors, hold my baby or even undo the facets on his onesies. I went to a rheumatologist and tested negative for Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis I felt hopeless. I was using Ibuprofen 800 to no avail. I even stopped breastfeeding as some message boards alluded that that may be the cause. My aunt suggested Tumeric and Ginger tea as they are both great for inflamation. The tea was a bit time consuming so I looked on Amazon and found a Tumeric amd ginger supplement. I'veonly been taking it for 4days and I already am started to feel relief which is promising. My joints aren't as still and I no longer feel the pressure I felt when I pressed my hands against things. When I wake up my hands are still a little stood but a LOT easier to bend. I am hopeful with continued use the pain may be totally alleviated.
