Erm second one was awful and because my first one was really good it was a shock. But so many people ahve an awful first labour and a fab second one. There were both VERY fast labours. Both times I felt I wasn't listened to. However the second time round I wasn't listen to when I was saying somethign felt wrong and something was wrong.

Both labours were quite similar, in terms of length both 26 hours. Although the 2nd stage was much quicker with the second. I had less drugs 2nd time so I felt more in control. And both times their shoulders got stuck coming out

I've 2nd labours can be quicker. My sil gave birth to her 2nd 3 weeks ago & it was less than 4 hours from 1st contraction to giving birth, only just made it into hospital in time (4 pushes only!)!

See, now I'm slightly worried about a home water birth & a mw actually getting to me in time!! It does seem most people I know have had very quick (almost surprisingly so) labours!

First, premature labour, baby was born 33 hours after first contraction, at 27+0. Cervix closed after waters went, so has emergency CS.
Second, baby was born 28 hours after first contraction (so similar time for both), at 40+0.
In both labours, I lost my plug, contractions followed straight away, and waters followed soon after. Apart from my first being prem, both of mine were quite similar (I think if No.1 had been term, I wouldn't have needed the CS)

My second was an unassisted birth, my husband got the pool ready in time but I couldn't move and then Z was born a couple of minutes later. It was a planned home birth luckily.
