Iris is coming up for 24 hrs old but I'm still getting a lot of blood.
I say a lot but its not gushing and not clots, but I need to change pads every 2-3 hours and it feels so messy.
Remind me how long the initial 'I need multiple pads in case it runs back or forwards' phase lasts for?!

Oh that's not too bad, I had visions of it lasting a week or two!
I hate the constant 'I want to feel clean' feeling!

I think it was 3 days with Ella and 4 with Michael. It's not long lovely. A nuisance though. How is she doing? xx

Thanks WS. She's nocturnal so I've consequently not slept since I got up on Wednesday at 7am - almost 48 hours ago! Am totally shattered.
She's also a bit shouty so Ned has kept waking overnight confused and a bit peed off, so he is now in my bed with H, Iris and I are downstairs trying to get the monkey to sleep. She's been awake for 3.5hours now!
I'm a bit worried about the amount I'm bleeding as think I just had a massive huge clot (tmi) but it could just be collected blood where I have been sitting/lying since 9pm... Will mention to the MW when she comes tomorrow.

I had a big clot after about 24 hours too but they were happy it was just a collection of blood from inactivity. Mention it to mw obviously, but doubt its a problem :)

Thanks Nenas, that's encouraging. I have totally forgotten about the lochia from last time, I don't remember it at all!

M still wakes E up! It's annoying for us all! I hope she gets her timings sorted out soon, Michael was the same for the first week! Definitely mention to your MW! Do you feel well? Not dizzy or sick?

you may not want to hear this but ine lasted for over a week, and annoyingly at the nd would be superlight one day and heavy the next.
That said i had rubbish aftercare from midwives and suspect something might have been done to check me sooner if it had been better. (put it like this it wasn't until 6 days after birth my stitches were checked and not til day 7 that midwife actual thought it might be a good idea to check me over as well as baby).
Deafinately metntion to MW when you see her, also mine was blobby sometimes but was told that can be due to a collection after inactivity

Since the mahoosive clot/collection I've been bleeding way less so hopefully that just needed to pass. I've been mainly sitting/lying too so it's bound to 'collect'
Ah so glam!!
