Hi SFW91, Congratulations on your pregnancy! I would just suggest taking a pregnancy supplement with folic acid, avoiding any high risk foods (runny eggs, rare meat, unpasturised cheese, etc), trying to avoid high fat/refined sugary snacks, take away foods (as you don't know what conditions they are prepared in..i passed up on a meal when i was pregnant with my 2nd and the next day my husband and friend were extremely ill..for 3 days!) and invest in a blender! I found making fresh smoothies, juice and soups was a great way to get all the nutrients i needed and more but also left me feeling more satisfied and not reaching for snacks all the time. You can buy books with recipes that are great for during pregnancy. I also used to make homemade iron rich crispy Kale chips (just place pieces of kale on a baking tray, drizzle with a little oil and bake until crispy) and spice them up with different seasonings and add chia seeds. I hope this helps. x

During my pregnancy I was making fruit salad daily and it gave me all the energy I needed, dates were also very useful and I had at least two a day. Generally did not crave any take aways and was eating at home reguarily or with my family again home cooked food.
