I found out at just 3 weeks my husband and I were expecting because we had been trying for months.
At 4 & 1/2 weeks I had some vaginal bleeding start that went on for about a week and a half until I was 6 weeks and the doctor did an ultrasound to make sure it was a viable pregnancy. It was, the bleeding looked like it had just been from implantation bleeding and we found the heartbeat of our miracle was 178!
Around 6 weeks was when my morning sickness had started...I had it from the moment I woke up to the moment I finally fell asleep. I was vomiting around 4 times a day even with a very plain diet. I saw my doctor again at 9 weeks and 4 days where we did another ultrasound...this ultrasound showed a very healthy, developing baby, and a very active one at that! I was relieved. My doctor prescribed be for zofran to help with my nausea...but it didn't help the least bit even taking it every 2 hours around the clock.
By 12 weeks my vomiting had escalated to anywhere from 8-12 times a day. No matter what I couldn't keep anything down, not even water or liquids. So I found myself in the Emergency Room. There the doctor diagnosed me with hyperemesis which he explained was just extreme morning sickness and I would most likely be sick my entire pregnancy. I was relieved for an answer on why I was so sick, but very dumbfounded I was expected to live like that for another 28 weeks.
At the 15 week mark my vomiting did slow down, I changed doctors where we have tried different medications but none seem to do the job. I am currently still on zofran multiple times a day plus wearing a patch behind my ear to give me medication 24/7. I have figured out my diet a lot better to know what to eat and what not to...but I'm still sick on a daily basis at 18 weeks.
At around 17 weeks I noticed EXTREME fatigue has set in...My other friends in their second trimester are starting to feel better and able to do so much more...Me? I have had to given up working and honestly it's energy just to hold myself up while standing. I have tried eating healthier, fruit smoothies, high protein diet, adding caffeine back into my diet, but nothing has made the slightest difference.
I was at a WIC appointment last week and my blood pressure was extremely high so the nurse made me sit while she called my doctor to see if i could come in and see them, I didn't ask how high it was because I was trying to keep myself calm...but she kept asking me if I was alright like she was expecting me to pass out...and sitting there for half an hour she took it four more times...and we couldn't get ahold of my doctor so she suggested me calling the Emergency Line for clinic, so I did so and got someone to page my doctor and she advised me to head to the Emergency room right away.
On top of the blood pressure spiking that i didn't know about I have these symptoms...
Nausea- daily vomiting
Random Chest pains that feel like some sqeezing the insides of my chest
Really bad cramping around my belly button area and going all the way to my back
I have a doctors appointment this coming Friday so I am going to express how miserable I am to my doctor because I kind of have been putting a brave face on everytime I've gone in trying not to be a whiner, but I can't function and I cannot live like this for 22 more weeks...I am so scared to have a premie, but I literally wake up every morning and think "Great have to do it all over again". I'm ready to be myself again!
