Just wanted to post quickly to have a moan about the maternity grant. You would think, that they'd assume second or third time mothers might also be in need of a bit of help what with already having childen to pay for? Secondly, I think its a bit unfair that mums-to-be who work for their money can't have help because they're not claiming jobseekers. Yes, working people earn more than (some of) those on benefits, but we also have to pay almost double on rent/mortgage/council tax payments - it all evens out eventually. Nothing against people who are out of work, obviously, I just think its a bit unfair that even first time mothers dont get the chance at this grant just because they have a job. -.-

I know it takes the piss doesn't it. I was made redundant after working since I was 15 when I was 9 weeks preg now at 26 weeks I'm still being dragged in to the job center to sign on and made to feel like sh1t. Don't get any help with anything they even took my 12 a week tax credits away all because I'm honest enough to declare I'm living with my partner who works when half the people on this estate are scamming the system. Makes me so mad xx

Its all rubbish I me and my partner were working fulltime and tax credits told me they would pay 70% of childcare yet actually just changed the name of part of them and paid only 30 a week towards a 200 pound a week bill. Last year we were both unemployed and were much better off but our pride didn't want that. So now we struggle? How is that fair?

Nuts isn't it and when I see the state of some of the people in the job centre who don't wanna work n keep popping kids out for benefits, and I mean this in the nicest way possible I'm not at all racist, but some have translators as they can't even talk basic English!! Yet Im entitled to naff all! It's all wrong. Rant over lol x
