Can anyone recommend me a good one for a cotbed? I have one (I can't even remember where I got it but I'm sure it was in a sale!) but it rustles if O is lying in his cot and moving about so I'd like a better one as I can't see him sleeping on that, he looks round already wondering where the noise is coming from!
also on that note, how many sheets do you have? I have 3 fitted sheets and a flat sheet but plan to use the fitted sheets so would another 2 be enough? It's not really been a thing for his crib as he sleeps in his pod so is never lying on the fitted sheet so I just change it every couple of weeks and wash the pod cover regularly.

I got my matress protector from asda, highly recommend it! We have 3 fitted sheets (we can't use flat sheets as he pulls them off in the night) and I generally only use 2- one in the wash and one on.

Can't help with mattress protector as we dont have one, I figure with nappies its not that necessary? As for sheets, we have 1 flat one, I just wash and dry in the day.

Thanks, it's the sort of plastic backing, it sounds like there's still plastic wrap on the mattress.
I'll have a look at mothercare and asda, didn't even think of asda actually noodle!
Porkchop, O is puker so would rather have something on the mattress incase he's sick and that way it's only on the sheet. I'll stick with what I have for sheets then. I don't think I'll use the flat sheet either noodle but I got it in the bedding set for the nursery but I notice O can pull the corner up when he's lying in the cot (he needs something in his hands to fall asleep and often pulls it up while searching for something to hold!)

I've never noticed the asda one rustle, our flat sheet came in the bedding pack too- I wish they'd put a fitted one in with it!

Our are from Mothercare too, no noise from ours. Molly had reflux so sick was our issue, I had five fitted sheets and five gro bags at a time!

Noodle do you use any of the bedding? We have it all on the cot just now but as I say O isn't using it, I just lie him in it occassionally. The blanket might come in handy, but the little coverlet thing I'll be taking out and I'm not sure on the bumper now, it's got animals on it which O stares at and about twists his head off too see and I can imagine him pulling it to his face! I'm thinking of taking everything out and just having the fitted sheet and his grobags.
NB thanks, I have 3 fitted sheets and 3 grobags in his next size so I'll start off with those and see if I need to get another couple!

I use the blanket out of it and that's it (wish I'd known before or I wouldn't have brought it), I was told by the HV not too use bumpers anymore (something to do with SIDS) but never needed them so didnt look into that to see if it's true!

I think there was guidance from SIDS but it's been removed, will still likely take them down. I know what you mean about the bedding set, I'm glad I had it so the bed has been 'dressed' and not just an empty cot but I always planned to buy another set or two but glad I didn't bother now!
