Hope everyone had a great weekend.
im feeling lots better trying to have a positive look on this week even though work is gonna be a nightmare down to politics. The baby is all good, the lodger is moving out in less that 2 weeks, I had a lovely weekend with my mum, then baby group meet & then chilling with a friend yesterday so there is definitely no need to be blue this week :)
20/05/2013 at 08:32
Don't feel blue, you sound really happy. Glad the lodger is going!
AFM - I'm all good, although shattered after a busy weekend again! Took L to see chris and put (show me show me) at the theatre yesterday and she had a good time. Baby is very active and I saw a kick poke out of my stomach in Saturday night :))) I love it!
Hope all who follow on later are ok

Twink- Glad you are feeling better. Hope work isn't too much of a stress for you this week.
PS- Glad L had a good time at the theatre. I can't wait to start feeling baby move! Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I will feel little one bobbing around in there :)
AFM- Had a lovely relaxing weekend. Had SD on Friday and took her to a party on Saturday afternoon. Then yesterday spent the majority of the day at my parents and even managed to have a barbeque without it raining! Then went to H's mum's to watch Arsenal and he was very happy with the result. Feeling all relax coming in to work today so lets see how long it lasts!

Morning lovelies, we are quiet this morning, have we lost a lot of ladies to third tri?!
Twink - Glad you are feeling more positive this week and that you had a good weekend! Let's get that lodger out now and get baby's room done eh?!
PS - Glad theathre was fun! How exciting about seeing baby, I can't wait for this!
Sam - Glad you had a nice weekend. Hope the relaxed feeling gets your through Monday!!
AFM - Had a pretty quiet weekend. Done a bit of shopping with mum. I tried on a maternity dress - I looked like a fat lump so I didn't buy it! I think I'm going to be leaning more towards fitted clothes to show off bump than covering it up with floaty dresses, it just did not suit me whatsoever! Not much in way of baby news, still puking every morning and still feeling baby moving every day but no substantial kicks yet, still patiently waiting. Speaking of patiently waiitng - 2 week countdown to scan day has commenced, cannot wait to see bubs again!!
20/05/2013 at 09:39
It is a bit quieter now, think we've had a few graduate to 3rd tri recently. Glad I've got a while til that, it's a scary place!
Twink - ah glad you are feeling a bit more chipper lovely, sounds like you've had a good weekend. Hope work isn't too bad for you this week.
PS - so cool to see a kick from the outside, I think that would really make me jump!
Sam - yay for BBQ weather! Hope you manage to stay relaxed today.
MM - I am the same with maternity clothes, anything that is loose and floaty and cut from under the bust look ridiculous on me. I am definitely going with skinny maternity jeans and long vest tops from H&M, it's the way forward. Sorry you are still being sick, that's rubbish, hope it goes for you soon.
AFM - scan day tomorrow and am bricking it. I am still feeling baby wiggle around and sometimes it's really starting to feel like kicks instead of flutters but I'm still so nervous about everything being ok. Provided all is well, H is treating me to an afternoon at Lakeside shopping in Mamas & Papas, Mothercare and Kiddicare. We are hoping to narrow down our pram choices. Still love the Bugaboo Chameleon but saw a review of M&P Sola and it looks really good so need to check it out.
Hi to all that follow x
20/05/2013 at 09:47
Twinks hope this week is a positive, happy one for you. Lots of good things happening and yay to getting rid of the lodger!
PS - ooh exciting seeing baby move from the outside, how lovely!
Sam - that sounds like a lovely weekend, hope that the relaxed feeling stays with you for as long as possible.
Mrs M - sorry you are still throwing up, are you feeling any better generally speaking though? Also I know what you mean about maternity dresses, I have a couple of nice ones but one that is essentially a small tent. It was very depressing trying it on as I was thinking "oh my god is this really the size I am likely to be by the end?!"
Popcorn - eeek scan! I am sure everything will be fine and it will be exciting to see baby again and see how it has grown since the last one.
I have had a busy weekend, out at the Late Shows on Friday and Saturday night: www.lateshows.org.uk and then met my parents for lunch yesterday. I'm impressed that I seem to be a bit more awake now than I was in 1st tri. We also had a look at prams on Saturday, liking the Silver Cross Wayfarer a lot at the moment but still got a few weeks to decide for sure. I'm taking my PPA day a day early this week as tomorrow is a bit of a crazy day in school so the head has asked me to be in for it, so I'm at home today which is quite a nice feeling.
20/05/2013 at 10:06
Sorry I've not been around much. Been quite busy.
Twink - glad you're trying to have a positive outlook.
PS - it's lovely to see movement on the outside.
Sam - hope your relaxed feeling last at least til lunchtime
Mrs M - sorry your still being sick. Hope the next two weeks fly by
Popcorn - good luck for tomorrow.
TT - hope the more awakeness lasts for you.
AFM - I'm half way through my GTT just now. I'm on here hoping the next hr passes very quckly so I can eat again. I'm starving. We're off to Butlins today too for our holiday. Can't wait. D is going to love it. I'm really feeling the baby move now. Lots of very big kicks that even H is seeing. I want D to feel it but baby goes into hiding everytime I try. Stubborn little madam that she is. When we get back we have our 4d scan so will try and flash a pic.
When do I move to 3rd tri? I'm not ready to go yet. It means the finish line is in site.
20/05/2013 at 10:15
Popcorn - Exciting about scan day!! maybe we will see a wee piccie? Are you going to find out gender if you can? x
TT - Enjoy your day at home! In general yes I'm feeling better, as soon as I get over the sicky morning bit. Glad you are feeling more energetic, I'm still quite sleepy most days!
Daisy - You must be getting ready to leave us for third tri any minute now no?! Exciting, the home stretch is in sight!!! Looking forward to seeing your 4d scan piccie

In a rush ladies as I had Friday off and I am late this morning. Just been for my 16 week appointment. All good, heard heartbeat but the little wriggler kept hiding. 1 in 16000 downs result and everything else spot on.
20/05/2013 at 10:31
LP- I got a letter just saying I was low risk but didn't actually get given any specifics. Will have to ask about this next time I have an appointment.
When did you ladies start to feel any sort of movements? Also, what are you using to try and combat the dreaded stretchmarks!?
20/05/2013 at 11:03
Daisy - have a great holiday!
LP - glad all went well.
Sam - I felt my first flutter on Wednesday but that must have worn baby out as haven't had anything else since. I think it can be anywhere between 16 and 20 weeks? I have hubby massaging my mini bump with Soap and Glory Righteous Butter every night, no idea if this will make any difference whatsoever but he enjoys his bump bonding time!
20/05/2013 at 11:04
TT - sounds like you had a cool weekend, it's nice when you start to feel like you've got more energy. Silver Cross prams are lovely.
D - hope you got through the hour ok. I think it's 28 weeks that you move to 3rd tri, eek! Have fun at Butlins!
MrsMack - scan is at 1:30pm so will be back on in the afternoon to let you know how I get on. Hopefully will upload a picture too!
LP - glad to hear your appointment went ok :)
20/05/2013 at 11:08
Twink glad your feeling better, how can you be blue after meeting us?!
Poppyseeds lovely to see stomach move, I find I'm bonding much more now I can 'see' baby
Sam sounds a great weekend jealous of your BBQ
Mrsm i feel the same about flowing stuff although I have got some which as bump is growing hangs better. Really hoping the sickness goes soon for you....mine was at its worst about 18/19 weeks then just stopped overnight so hoping yours is the same!
Popcorn best of luck with your scan tomorrow. At the baby show the other day there were tonnes of bugaboos and solas, so both seem good choices!
Tina sounds like a nice weekend, enjoy your day at home
Daisy hope your gtt goes well, enjoy butlins. And yes it's 3rd tri time for you!
Sam I first felt flutters at 16/17 weeks, kicks around 21 weeks and movement on outside at 23 weeks.
Afm guess this is my last week on 2nd tri eek. Having a pain in the backside morning today. Didnt manage to do my shift at work yesterday due to pelvic/sciatic pain - last week or so I've struggled with my hour commute to work, having lots of pain in lower pelvis and backs of legs after driving. Spoke to midwife this morning and she told me to get. Gp apt....but there's nothing till Friday. My worry is that although I'm finishing work at 32 weeks I've really struggled last couple of shifts and if this is going to get worse, not sure ill do another 6 weeks of 13hr shifts with an hour commute each way. Gah! Waiting for gp to phone back and will have to see.....I did noting but rest yesterday and there's no improvement today
20/05/2013 at 11:21
Tina/ Duckford- I am not very observant at the best of times so thinking I probably won't notice flutters until they become a lot more apparent a little later on! I'm using bio-oil twice a day and using free samples of palmers cocoa butter cream when I get home from work. I think I might be a bit OTT but I actually like rubbing my little bump, feels like I'm taking care of it already! haha
20/05/2013 at 11:24
Sam - I was probably around 17 weeks when I felt my first flutter. It didn't start to be regular until the last few days or so, now some of them are starting to feel stronger. I reckon any day now for you ;)
DF - ah I feel bad for you, your pain sounds awful. I've had sciatic pain in the past (not pg related) and it's the worst. I'm not really sure what to suggest, apart from rest which is obviously not helping you. Sending lots of virtual sympathy :) Did you have fun at the baby show? I saw your post about cloth nappies, exciting! I'm a recent convert and am currently in the research phase although have made a few purchases - we might have to swap wisdom once our LOs are here!
20/05/2013 at 11:32
Duckford- your pain sounds awful :( I can't imagine doing 13 hour shifts with a 1 hr commute each way full stop let along when you are struggling with sciatica pain on top! Nothing to suggest but really hope you get some let up from it soon.
20/05/2013 at 11:58
Thanks ladies its only been in the evenings the last week or two and mainly on work days but over the weekend it seems to have gotten worse...not sure if baby has moved position maybe?!
Popcorn I'm currently researching away too....really not keen to spend £200+ on a starter pack and then find they don't work for us. So hoping to get a couple of different types and decide when baby is here whether its a good idea for us. I noticed yesterday that tesco online sell totsbots and at the moment they have the club card exchange on to double your vouchers... Which would get us £60 worth of vouchers to spend so may use them to buy some from there. What nappies have you been looking at? I've only seen totsbots irl as a few of my friends use them.
20/05/2013 at 12:08
Duckford I've been looking at Totsbots stretchies and have got some Little Lambs bamboo ones - they had a deal on a couple of weeks ago to get 8 nappies for £32, 4 size 1 and 4 size 2 so just need to get a couple of wraps for now. I think the plan will be to get one or two of a couple of different varieties and then survive on them and disposables initially until we find out what works for us, then order more online. I filled in the Fill Your Pants questionnaire and one of their Real Nappy Gurus is going to come round and give me a demo soon - she's an old school friend so not sure if that's something they offer in all areas! Might be worth investigating if you haven't already as they will advise on all different types of nappies, not just a specific brand. It's a lot to take in!
20/05/2013 at 12:14
I've been looking at cloth nappies too and think we will buy a few and see how we get on. Have heard that even though they state from birth some of them are still big until 4+ months? Anyone else heard this? I've been looking at totbots and bumgenius freetime and will be about to purchase them and then some across some bad reviews! I know not all nappies suit everyone so this is always going to be the case but I've just been putting it off.
