Morning. I really hope nobody minds me starting the thread today given that I hardly ever get a chance to update on it!?!?
I've been reading the thread every day though so I'm keeping up to date. It's too late by the time I can post though. I usually manage to update at the weekend but I've had a crazy one. Clearing out the spare room and a 40th birthday party on Saturday and yesterday we headed off to a hotel for an overnight stay which was an Xmas pressie. Still here and having a lovely time although Im having a bout of insomnia again so there's why I'm here early. Off work today and tomorrow.
Pregnancy wise everything seems to be good. Feeling some light kicks for the last week and counting down to scan day which is a week on Wednesday.
Hope everyone is doing ok xxx

Of course we don't mind, it's good to see you here CA.
Glad you're having a nice time away and feeling plenty of movement. I'm jealous of your time off work!
I'm just up which for me isn't bad going, I didn't wake once in the night either which is some kind of miracle. Not looking forward to work mind, however it's a bit busier this week so hopefully it'll pass quickly.
We are baby shopped out for now, we've looked at loads of stuff and now just need to wait a week to start buying stuff- hopefully. Getting nervous about next weeks scan but just trying to stay positive for now.

Ca- are you clearing the room to start the nursery? If so eeeekkkk that's so exciting!!
Imp- what did you choose to buy?
Afm- I found out the theme to my baby shower last night, it's pink vintage afternoon tea. My BFF is going all out and it sounds like a small wedding haha, I cannot wait, vintage afternoon teas are my fav and it's what we had for our wedding!
Last night before bed a certain little Madame gave me an almighty kick, very violent haha, iv not felt her since so need to keep an eye on that more at the moment because of Friday!
I had a scan on Friday and she was measuring 1lb7ozs, so spot on at the moment so it's nice to see the diabetes isn't effecting her yet. My next growths can is in 4 weeks so I'll be interested to see how much she has gained!
Ha I'm a cauliflower!!

Glad to hear she's the right size Monnie that must be a relief.
We know which cotbed we want, it's in kiddicare and John lewis at the same price so we might try and negotiate on buying other things too. We have narrowed down our pram choice to three, although one isn't released yet so that's frustrating me. We have decided on car seats and bases. So quite a few big decisions made.

I know you was looking at the new I candy, but what else did you short list?

That's the one that isn't out yet, I'm actully condidering going to Excel in a couplr of weeks as they're exhibiting and I can order it there. Am I mad?
Theother is the bugaboo bee and the stokke scoot. My fave is the icandy but I haven't seen it in the flesh, then the bugaboo.
10/02/2014 at 07:52
I have a stokke, although I have the xplory!
You might even get a discount at excel so I think it's worth a shot !!

Hi CA, lovely to see you! I'm very jealous of your trip away and your time off. Enjoy! Love that you're feeling proper kicks and that everything is going well x
Imp, so pleased to hear that you slept through. Hurrah! Boo to busy week though, I hope it's not as bad as you think. Eeek to considering excel!! I don't think it's mad, not if it's the pram you really think you might want. Plus it's a nice trip to London :)
Monnie, glad baby is measuring the right size and that everything is going well. Your baby shower sounds lovely.
AFM, still getting lots of little punches and kicks from little one at night. She's got quite the force behind her already!
Husband and I have set oursleves a deadline for finding a house to buy before giving up and renting somewhere until we can find something suitable to buy. We are relocating from one end of the country to the other, and I'd rather do that when I'm pregnant than with a very young baby. If we end up renting we will at least be at the right end of the country, so moving again when we finally buy somewhere won't be as big an ordeal. Having that deadline was stressing me out a bit over the weekend, but I think I'm starting to feel better for it today. I'm glad we have a plan in place.
Hi to all who follow!

Hiya CA, I completely understand about not getting on here, no worries :) Weekend sounds like it was a nice one, though, and I'm excited for you feeling kicks having the scan next week. Are you finding out the sex? Any plan for your days off?
Imp, have you thought about what you'll buy after the scan? One of the things you've mentioned? Maybe a bit of clothes? Are you finding out the sex or are you team yellow? I can never remember who is doing what..
Monnie, I'm jealous of your baby shower. I don't have many friends in the UK, and can't get back home to Canada just for that. Is yours the first baby in your group of friends? When my friend Ana got pregnant she was the first and everyone went mad with presents and baby shower stuff, and yeah, totally like a wedding, haha. I think it also has something to do with everyone being on pinterest!
Nothing new for me, just really popping on to say hello to everyone and see how you're all doing. Hello to all who follow!

Missed you, Fig! Having a deadline is a good idea. When is it? And have you seen any potential places online?
10/02/2014 at 09:45
fig- where are you moving to ?
wispa- im the last of all my friends really, but they know what i am like with detail so i think they are pushing the boat out for me a bit haha ! i have seen my cake because my bestie wanted my approval, and its totally amazing !
10/02/2014 at 10:02
Flash us your cake Mon!
Wispa, how is packing going?
We're moving to Surrey. Most of H's work is down south now and he currently spends an awful lot of time away from home. He's going to miss his baby growing up if we don't hurry up and move. There are loads of rentals available, it seems that everyone is renting rather than selling!
The deadline to find somewhere to make an offer on is when I'm 6 months pregnant. So that's a month and a few days. We'll still keep looking at houses to buy after that, but we'll also be aiming just to rent and get moved before I end up the size of a whale!
10/02/2014 at 10:45
thats the cake !
10/02/2014 at 10:51
Ooo wow! That's an amazing cake! I'm imagining it as a strawberry cake, it looks like it would be delicious!
10/02/2014 at 10:53
Ooh, we looked at a couple lovely places in Hurst Green and Oxted in Surrey, but stayed in Kent in the end. Keep us updated if anything comes up! These things can happen very very quickly!
Packing is going well. There's only so much you can do when there's still 2 weeks to go. To be honest, I'd done loads last weekend because we were expecting a 14 Feb move! Other than that it's just slow and steady. Packed away the wine glasses last night, table lamp we rarely use this morning, etc. I do need to buy some more boxes, though..
10/02/2014 at 10:54
Monnie, that cake is gorgeous!!!
10/02/2014 at 11:10
i think we decided on a victoria sandwich with strawberry sponge inside !
