Awww sorry your feeling pants AR, not long for the scan which is good!!
Afm- today I have my quad blood test because I didn't get my nuchal, so I'm very nervous and apprehensive about that.
Then after then I have midwife nurse and consultant today.
I don't want to go. I feel crappy every time I leave that hospital at the moment and I really can't face more of it today. I'm also scared as next Monday is my next scan and I don't want to see that horrid woman again
09/12/2013 at 07:28
Oh ladies! Feeling for both of you. AR hope you feel better soon and hope the wriggling continues. Monnie, good luck for today - let us know how you are? And slap that evil woman if she starts again!
AFM, still got a throbbing bump, sore to move around. Sore throat, tired and a bit worried because 'Baxter' is always super-busy first thing yet nothing hardly happening this morning. Meeting boss at work to go through my mat leave proposal, we're on a shaky start after he said he didn't want to employ the woman I wanted to employ because she had 2 pre-school children and what if we both end up at home looking after poorly children at the same time. I made my feelings clear to him (!) but it shows we are at absolute opposites of the spectrum where I don't believe having a child makes you less reliable, or that being the one with the womb means you are the one to do all the caregiving. Ah well, these ignorant men! I'm going in to work but will ring the midwife centre soon as it opens.

My goodness ladies, we aren't having a good start to the week, hugs to you all
AR, hope the cold shifts quickly and baby stays lively
Monnie, hope hospital goes ok today, sounds like an epic! Also re sonographDr, at my hospital I've been scanned by a different person literally every time I've been (7 scans over 3 pregnancies) so hopefully you'll not see the one from last time at all. How long will it take for your test results?
Counter, hope the bump pain is nothing to worry about. How are the headaches? Hope you get sorted re the mat leave. Could you use the discrimination card? Or would that just make things worse?
AFM, all ok here, had a lovely weekend. We got our tree and decorations up yesterday so I'm feeling festive. Bought mince pies yesterday and went for cream, the Bailey's cream sounds good and no mention of containing alcohol so I've bought that, can't wait to try it!
My friend has asked me to a lovely sounding group this morning, creche for the kids and free breakfast and Christmas crafts for the mum's in the next room. But M says she's not going to a creche today, so will have to work on that! this afternoon she has ballet, and will try to get her out on her scooter or something too...
Hope everyone else is well, and CC that you are feeling ok xx

Morning all! I gave up trying to get on here at the weekend because of having to keep logging in. I was stalking though!
AR - such a shame you've caught P's cold. Hopefully it'll be gone for Christmas.
Monnie - hope the hospit goes better than last time. Fingers crossed you'll see someone different to before, the last visit sounded horrible.
Counter - hope your meeting goes well today, let us know how you get on. I assume your boss knows that you already have a son? And that hasn't affected how you do your job. Make sure you do call the midwife too.
Weekender - another busy day for you! Hope you manage to convince M, the craft/crèche thing sounds like a nice morning.
AFM - just in Christmas countdown mode now I think! Work will be crazy this week but then hopefully it'll quieter down after that. Got a black tie party for work tomorrow so will be getting my one dress out for that! Usually I end up taking three or four with me and deciding while I get ready in the toilets, at least I don't have to worry about that this year.
Had a lovely dream last night that the baby was here, and she was adorable. Quite disappointed when I woke up and realised that there's still quite a few months to go! Think she's moved a bit as the kicks I'm feeling are more pointing down...slightly uncomfortable right now as I'm sat on a packed train and I just want to walk around! Looking forward to reaching 24 weeks on Wednesday. I know it's no guarantee but it feels like another little milestone to cross.

Morning, I went to click on 3rd tri this morning...
AR- Hope your cold goes quickly! rest up on your day off if you can. I felt less movements yesterday but this morning I have had lots of kicks so think position does make a big difference. i would call if you are worried though.
Monnie- Hope the blood test is ok. Hope you dont have to see that horrible lady again. If you do put her in her place!
Counter- Hope your pain eases. let us know how you get on after speaking to the midwife. Thats awful of your boss, My boss doesn't like to employ people with children. Quite bad really isn't it, but I wont be returning anyways.
Weekender- Mmm I had the baileys cream last year, so yummy! That sounds lovely, hopefully M will will give in for you lol.
Flossy- Black tie party sounds great. What sort of dress do you have? I understand about the 24 weeks, thats my next milestone. The lower kicks are quite uncomfy arent they!
AFM- Had a lovely busy weekend. lots of baby cuddles with my little nephew. Seems so strange to look at him and think he is still meant to be in SIL's tummy! Baby wise all good, My bump is getting bigger by the day I think! But I love it. Lots of pokes and kicks already this morning :) Just counting down until xmas, I want some relaxtion time.

AR, that sounds completely rubbish! I hope you're feeling better. Thanks for your replies last night on the epi thread, they were exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to get. In fact, I was a bit surprised as the number of responses on there as md has seemed really quiet. Glad to know people are still about! If you happen to find that article you mentioned, I'd love to read it.
Monnie, I feel like I've completely missed a part of your epic story. Your nuchal was supposed to be at around 14 weeks, wasn't it? I remember wondering why they had left it so late, especially when they seemed to have had you in for enough scan to be sure of your date by then! It sounds like they were horrible, though if it makes you feel better I was told not to expect to see the same people all the time, so hopefully that'll be the case and you'll have a lovely person dealing with you. My sonographer was a right cow when we had our 12wk scan, and I'm secretly thrilled that we won't have our 20wk scan at the same hospital.
Counter, I agree with you 100%. Fathers are just as responsible for the upbringing of their children, so just as likely in my books to be the ones requesting leave to take care of a sick child, though I would expect that the demands of both job would be weighed and if the mother has fewer responsibilities that day she would go, or if she had more (say, an important meeting or deadline), then he would go. Seems obvious to me, but then I've met several men who assume child rearing is woman's work. ugh.
Weekender, that creche and crafts thing sounds fun! Is it weird that I can't wait to do things like that when I'm a mom?
Flossy, what's the dress like and where's it from? I don't think I'll have any excuse to buy a fancy maternity dress, but I'm starting to have a look at mat clothes for the everyday.. I've had a few dreams about baby, too, and it's been a girl in every one of them.. Always disappointing to wake up!
Bertie, how early was your nephew?
Phew, lots of personals today! Anyways, AFM, I'm going statistic mad. I keep looking up studies on various things. A short while ago it was certain allergy drugs when I was sneezing non-stop (thank you, motherisk.org for your extensive database of studies and your easy to understand abstracts and conclusions!), and obviously yesterday it was all about pain relief in labour, and it's an interesting subject. I feel like I'm on the verge of buying an obstetrics textbook to understand as much as possible. Extreme? Maybe. I just want to be as informed as possible about all the possible outcomes, as the vast majority of scary or bad labour experiences seem to be related to things not going to plan and not enough information being given to the mom and everything being a vague and scary unknown or surprise.

Wispa- he was born at 30 weeks. He weighed around 3.10, so diddy bless him. Doing really well but has a cyst on his brain which they have to monitor.
I don't think there is anywhing wrong in reading up on things, knowledge is power and all that! (Did I just make that phrase up?!)
09/12/2013 at 10:35
I seem to find time to read these threads in the evenings but not to get on them in the morning!
AR- hope cold is not too bad. Glad you felt more movement this evening.
Moonie- good luck for today.
counter- hope the bump pain isn't too bad. Take care of yourself and get yourself checked out. Hope your meeting with your boss goes OK.
Weekender- hope you managed to get to your, what sounds like a, lovely morning!
Flossy- sounds like a lovely dream. Before you know it your baby will be beside you when you wake up.
Bertie- lovely having baby cuddles
AFM- I have my doppler scan today. So hoping PE and blood flow is behaving itself! I then have a consultant appointment straight after the scan. Have had SIL and her 4 kids here for the weekend...so busy house! Other than that I have been busy with the children as always! Have another busy week ahead- between Christmas pre school parties and school plays!
09/12/2013 at 10:58
Bertie, 30 weeks! But then, looking at numbers, 30 wk babies have a 96% survival rate, which is pretty damn good considering they were meant to cook for 10 more weeks (see?! I told you I was obsessed with stats!). I hope the cyst ends up being no big thing, at least it's being monitored. Enjoy all the cuddles :)
09/12/2013 at 11:09
Haha Wispa, you are a fountain of knowledge!
Section4- Hope your appointments go well today. All this busyness will make time fly and it will soon be xmas :)
09/12/2013 at 11:14
I missed you there Wispa- I think it is good to keep your knowledge up. However, don't become too paranoid by it!
Bertie- is your nephew home then? My first was born at 31 weeks. She spent quite a while in NICU but now is a wonderful 6 year old!
09/12/2013 at 11:23
I'm keeping my promise to myself to be more reliable at posting.
AR- I hope the cold passes soon and doesn't get too bad
Monnie- Good luck with the blood tests
Counter- I hope you get Mat leave sorted
Flossy - I hope you get to your group it sounds fab
Bertie- Keep enjoying those kicks they're lovely
Wispa- Let us know if your reading comes up with anything e should all know about
Section 4 - Good luck with the scan hope it all goes as you'd hopes
AFm - still struggling with nausea, but no vomiting for several days now. Just trying to force food down when I can. At my last hospital appt (24 weeks) the bump was too small but the baby was on the large side. My bump doesn't seem to be growing at all but we'll see on Christmas Eve when I go for my 28 week scan x
09/12/2013 at 11:31
Section4- Yes he was in hospital for a month but was doing so well he was allowed home :) Ah thats good to hear, it's all so scary when they arrive so early.
BabyLL- I dont know much about bump sizes etc but hope all is ok. Do you take pics to compare your bump through pregnancy?
09/12/2013 at 11:33
Babylonglegs - one thing I've come across that's disturbing is that some hospitals will still do routine episiotomies, despite numerous studies concluding that routine episiotomies have no benefit to the mother and actually has a negative effect on future sexual function. They should really only be done as a last resort, and they only reduce anterior perineal damage, and have no effect on pain, urinary incontinence, severe vaginal/perineal trauma, or painful sex after the birth.
09/12/2013 at 12:03
Morning you lovely lot!
AR - Sorry you're feeling crappy, hope you feel better soon
Monnie - good luck with the blood tests and try not to let the arsey staff get you dow, if they start tell them you don't find their attitude acceptable
Counter - bloody ignorant sod, give him some of the hairy side! Good luck with the MW
Weekender - Sounds like a lovely day you have planned :)
Flossy - Boo to the baby dream, I've had a few dreams about baby too. Hope you have a fab time at the black tie do
Bertie - I bet your nephew is adorable! Also strange to see a baby and know that you're cooking one up too!
Wispa - I think it's good to be aware but careful not to frighten yourself - I know from previous experience how easy it is to very wrongly self diagnose thanks to Dr Google!
Section4 - sounds like a busy time ahead! Good luck with your appointments
BabyLL - Hope all is well and good luck for your appointment, not long to wait!
AFM - all quiet on the Western front pregnancy wise. Strting to dread being surrounded by people full of Christmas cheer of the alcoholic variety! Nothing worse than drunk poeple when you are sober!
Hi to everyone who follows!
09/12/2013 at 12:18
It's mega busy on here today!! No time to catch up with the personals now and not sure anyone will be back anyhoo. It was lovely to have a read about how you all are and hugs to those that need them today!
Not much to update. Can't believe it's nearly 3rd tri time. The baby is now responding to getting gently prodded or when I drum lightly on my belly which is amazing! 28 week check tomorrow so looking foward to hearing the HB again.
09/12/2013 at 14:03

hubby mentioned my anxiety and panic attacks and they arnt happy that my midwife is ignoring me, so think they are trying to see if i can stop seeing her and just see the hospital midwives instead
