Tis only 5.30 but I've been awake since 3ish so thought I'd start the thread. How is everyone today? Baby out vibes to Isis and LD!
Thank goodness for mat leave as this insomnia seems all the more bearable now that I know I can daytime nap. I've moved myself to the couch to avoid waking H as he gets up so early for work and has an hour commute. 1st day of mat leave will consist of painting the bathroom, making soup and chilli for the freezer and washing some baby clothes. too optimistic i wonder?! Otherwise all well!

Oh goodness AR that's a lot of work done!! No wonder you are sore. Hope you've had a bath or two over the weekend and an easy day sounds like a good plan. Must be a good feeling to have achieved so much though! Our bathroom is fairly small so hoping it won't take long. I've promised H to be very careful today which I will be!

Sp - enjoy your first day of mat leave. I love afternoon naps, makes up for no sleep at night. Take it easy painting.
AR - well done on getting all your jobs done. I don't know where you get the energy from. Hope you have a relaxing day with P.
Afm - Still no baby :( I feel like my body is letting me down now even though I know going overdue is common. Got a midwife appointment this afternoon. I have everything crossed that they are going to be able to do a sweep this time. I'll also get an induction date for later in the week so I know the end is in sight. Apart from a few cramps and twinges (which really hurt) I've had nothing so fully expect to get to the induction without going into labour. Not how I imagined it at all but there you go. Other than that not much planned today.

LD try not to get down about it lovely. Your body isnt letting you down, its finishing off the cooking!!! Whatever happens you'll have your baby by this time next week. Have you tried spicy food and sex? I swear thats what set my labour with p off. Hope the mw can do a sweep today. X

Thanks AR. I am trying to be positive. Im almost still in denial that I will have a baby by the weekend haha! I've tried everything and I can feel sort of mini contractions but it never amounts to anything. I'll keep going though. It's only a few more days. Sorry to be doom and gloom. Hopefully I'll have a good update later!

SP, enjoy mat leave! Your plan for today sounds good, just be careful not to overdo it, and try and get that nap in!
AR, sounds like a busy weekend! Our dining room needs done too but think it'll have to wait till nearer the summer. Make sure you and P have that easy day today
LD, baby out vibes to you! Hope the mw can do the sweep today. I agree with AR, your baby is just still wanting to cook a bit longer. Were your dates changed at your first scan? Mine was brought forward 5 days with M despite me telling her it was impossible (originally she was bringing me forward 10 days!) And I ended up 11 days over, or 6 by my original date
All ok here, my friend is taking M this morning which M is most excited about! So easy morning for me, then will try and occupy her with jigsaws and crafty things until ballet later. Hope baby spends another day cooking! M asked last night if I could go back to hospital because she wanted milk from the vending machine! Oh and sighed "daddy I can't sleep in your bed since mummy is here, there isn't room". Thanks babe :)
Hope all is ok with everyone else x

AR - hope you get some rest today, sounds like a very busy weekend! Hope you were taking your own advice and left the going up and down ladders to H! We paid someone to do our hall and landing after putting it off for a whole year. Plus the highest bit is very high and H isn't a big fan of heights (which I think is why he was putting it off!)!
SP - that's a very energetic first day of mat leave! Make sure you get some relaxing in too!
LD - I can imagine you must be getting frustrated now. I don't really have any advice but hopefully you won't need the induction date on emits booked! You'll have your baby very very soon!
Weekender - awww, M sounds so cute! Hopefully there won't be anymore dramas with the baby now. Have they given you and idea of when they'll book the c-section or are they just still waiting to see what happens?
AFM - didn't really get a chance to post over the weekend as it was really busy but was reading. Turned into an expensive weekend as we ordered quite a bit more for the house but it's all coming together! As we've had no kitchen it's been a good excuse to eat out - we had a date night on Saturday and lunch out yesterday...any excuse!
Baby wise I feel huge! I'm not quite sure how much I can keep growing and can't believe there's still (at least!) 6 weeks to go. I'm feeling it more but we did lots this weekend so that's probably not helped. 4 more working weeks to go so just concentrating on getting through each week one at a time as the commute is getting to me now - people on the tube are so rude! Last week someone asked the person in the priority seat if they'd give it to me and she turned around and refused on the basis that she'd paid for her ticket so deserved a seat! I really wanted to say something but was so shocked I didn't know what to say. I really wouldn't have minded at all if she said she'd had a bad back or something but was amazed that she came out with that!

Isis - it must be so frustrating for you since J was early! Do you have anything nice planned for half term to take your mind off it? Hope things happen soon!
17/02/2014 at 09:07
Weekender - thanks. I was brought forward from 14th to 8th feb at first scan so if they'd have kept the original date I'd feel fine now! Baby in vibes for you. Get plenty of rest while the little one is out for the day.
Isis - Im 9 days overdue today. I always thought of get to the due date because the baby was small but now it's just taking the piss haha. It must be difficult when your first came early. Baby out vibes, hope you get your half term baby.
Flossy - Thanks. Hope your last 4 weeks at work fly by. That's so rude, I really hate going on the tube at the best of times but when it's packed and people ignore clearly heavily pregnant women asking for a proprity seat, it does my head in. Good work on getting lots of jobs done this weekend.
17/02/2014 at 09:29
LD - big baby out vibes for you Mrs
Flossy - I love eating out too, got to cut back on that now lol
Isis - I feel exactly the same, I'm 40 wks on Friday and feel baby should be here by now! I hate that we have no control over them coming
WE - that made me chuckle, how very dare you be home in your own bed??? Glad your ok
Ar - sounds like a manic weekend, you need to rest too remember
Sp - make sure you don't over do it
Afm - had a busy kind of weekend, went for a long old walk then cleaned my car, had a spicy takeaway Saturday night and still no luck! Can't believe I am 40 wks this week I never in a million years thought I would make full term, I'm so grateful bit now just want baby out, I'm so uncomfortable, got my three godsons coming to see me today so that will keep me busy
Roll on Thursday for my next sweep
17/02/2014 at 09:37
SP- Daytime naps sound so good. Sounds like a productive day.
AR- God you did well over the weekend! Hope bump isn't too achey today.
LD- Sorry baby isn't here yet but must be too comfy :) End is in sight though! Hope they manage to do a sweep and it works for you.
Weekender- Haha, M always sounds so funny and cute. Baby in vibes for you. Enjoy your day.
Isis- Must be frustrating when J was early. Hopefully you wont be waiting too long.
Flossy- That is rude! I am with you on feeling huge. Hopefully the next 4 weeks go quickly for you.
AFM- Looked at cars this weekend so think we may be purchasing by the end of the month. Saw my little nephew and neices, my nephew is doing good, still tiny though! Then Sunday we went to Ikea, i hated it last time as it just confused me but I actually quite liked it yesterday. Popped into some other shops and went into lakeside shopping centre. Got some maternuty knickers (sexy) and some waterproof bed matts. Looked for some maternity clothes but found nothing. I used to love shopping but finding clothes now is always stressful!
Baby very wriggly as always :) only 2 weeks of work left, I am so uncomfy at work now, cant wait to finish!
17/02/2014 at 09:39
NLH- I took forever to reply and missed you. Busy weekend, sounds like you was doing all the right things to get things moving. Hopefully baby will make an appearance soon :)
17/02/2014 at 09:53
Bertie, we braved Ikea on Saturday (at lakeside). Wasn't as busy as I was thinking which was nice, just about bearable!
NLH - baby out vibes coming your way. Hoping if nothing happens beforehand then the sweep ok thursday might kick things off!
17/02/2014 at 09:55
SP - you were awake really early! Get a nap in later :)
AR - Make sure you take it easy today.
LD hope MW goes well and there are signs of baby making an appearance.
WE glad baby is staying put, baby in vibes to you.
Isis try and keep busy so time goes quickly. what baby out techniques have you been trying?
Flossy thats unbelievable! How rude of her! Can you finish work earlier if the commute gets too much?
NLH its really good you are nearly full term. Hopefully the sweep will get things moving.
Bertie - very glamourous isnt it? Ive had bed mats on for a while now.
AFM - having a very lazy morning! Meeting a friend for lunch which will be nice.
Bit of a tmi question but how do you know if you have lost your mucus plug? Im not sure but I think I may have lost some this morning!
17/02/2014 at 10:10
Oooh Mrs v - WHAT WAS IT LIKE? doesn't matter about TMI were all in this together!!!!!!
Ooh a busy thread, yay :)
Sweetpea - I totally get where you're coming from re pregnancy insmonia. I can tolerate it on a weekend, but during the week I think 'no! must sleep, only X hours to cram in sleep and I'm already tired'. And X gets less and less, lol. Good work on the constructive plans. But there's always tomorrow ;)
AR - good work on the house! it's not quite so bad feeling achey when you know you've achieved things. I;m so pleased for you that you don't have *that* many working days left :)
LD - your baby is comfy and snug. I went *very* over with Harry and I had a slightly different mindset, not so much that my body was letting me down, but that HE was too cosy to shift because I was such a lovely place for him to stay in, lol. Baby won't stay in for ever, I promise! Do keep walking though x
Weekender, your girl is priceless, love her logic. And more cooking time is just brill, I know it's been no fun but I'm so relieved for you you've got to this point.
Isis, bless you for feeling impatient, it's odd to me because of how far over I went. But at the same time I wish Baxter's time was now, so I totally get where you're coming from. It's just so good that hubby went and came back and missed nowt!
Flossy - what a miserable mare on the Tube. I thought of you this weekend when we were travelling in London, I was feeling fortunate I don't have to wrestle with it every day. I'd murder someone, lol.
NLH - 3 godsons, how lovely! What ages are they? And yes, I remember you having some very bad days/weeks so it's great you're at 40 (almost)!
Bertie - 2 weeks, wow! Has any progress been made on mat leave cover? I HATE shopping now. I hate getting dressed, even. Great news about a new car though. Exciting stuff.
Mrs V - Have a lovely relaxing day. Can't help with your Q, my baby had to be forcibly evicted and I didn't get any pre-labour symptoms at all.
