Morning all, hope you all had nice weekends.
I've got an nhs breastfeeding workshop this Thursday for 4 hours, how an earth are they going to fill that time? Anyone been and have any experiences please? Not much else to report, got a full week at work so sure I'll be knackered again come Friday!

MrsL - I went to a breast feeding workshop at the hospital last time. It was probably a couple of hours long - it was interesting but I'm not sure that anything I learned actually helped (we couldn't BF in the end) and I already knew a lot of the stuff to be honest. Yours might be better though as it's much longer!
Well, I *think* my cold is easing. About time really! Today I've got a pile of ironing to get through and I want to clean the ensuite before it gets ripped out tomorrow. Stupid eh! I started my Christmas shopping yesterday and have ordered a couple of presents. Baby wise everything seems fine. MW tomorrow and my Poddle Pod should arrive today!

Mrs l I had a breastfeeding one last week but it was only an hour and a half! It was followed by the breastfeeding support group that happens weekly that we didn't have to stay to but meant we could meet a couple of health visitors.
Wg that's great that the cold is finally easing. How exciting with the poddle pod, I love it when you know you've got a delivery!
Back to work today :( but only for 5 weeks :). So I'm not sure how much I'm going to get on. I'm also on my phone as my water bottle leaked in my bag and has broken my tablet, it's not turning on :(. Had health visitor round Friday and she went through all the leaflets they give you at the newborn visit as we missed this out with k. It was really good to see her again, I like her and she knows our history which us a bonus. Midwife this morning before work so hopefully baby isn't breech now and has turned although I'm not too hopeful!

Mrs L I think yonks ago with L my bf class was 3 hours, there was a DVD, a talk, a game (we had to match words/phrases, label a breast etc) , then we bombarded the mw with questions, there was only 4 of us, one girl was veggie so she was asking all about supply and diet etc, I think we just asked absolutely every question that had ever crossed our minds whilst we had the opportunity. They spoke about bf after sections and this is the reason L had skin to skin post birth, I had a section under ga and h had remembered me saying the mw recommened dad give skin to skin if mum couldn't, so that was one thing we took from it. The mw was lovely and had provided scones and tea (always a winner in my book ) and it was good to chat to everyone. I spoke to the bf group briefly before Isaac (just nipped in for brew) as was worried re tongue tie again asL had a severe one, this time Iv contacted them via email purely just because of the possible tongue tie issue so they said to just phone them when I'd delivered and they will come to the ward or my house which is great as I'd want it sorted asap again (although kidding myself that it's my turn for a tongue tie less baby .
Wg - you are mad!!!! Although it is something I'd do lol
Bunny - fx baby has turned, glad the hv is lovely and hope school not bad
Afm, L back at school tomorrow (he literally cannot wait to get back as he has missed his friends despite seeing them a few times a week, and also his teacher lol, he even mentioned he missed mrs b the dinner lady ), and Isaac starts Ls old pre school on weds , start my 2 days a week this week which I'm SOOOO looking forward to, headaches seem to have been replaced by twitchy legs at night , it's really foggy and wet here which is typical. Baby wise, back to reconsidering the middle name arrrrgh, I keep chopping and changing between 3 names. O and I ordered some personalised Xmas stuff with baby's first name on it eek! Was v strange
Take care all. O and baby out vibes browny

MrsL: My NHS class briefly covered bf but 4 hours you should be able to cover everything!! I actually joined the La Leache League when I was pregnant last time & learnt a lot about breast feeding that way. Hope it goes well
WG: So glad to hear your cold is finally going. Don't work too hard
Bunny: Hope all goes well back at work. We only have inset days this week & I'm only doing thurs & Fri but not looking forward to it (especially getting up!!) hope mw goes well, fingers crossed your baby isn't breech (I think my little pumpkin is breech too!)
RF: Glad the headaches have gone, twitchy legs don't sound fun either though. Hope the back school goes well for I.
AFM: I love that this baby is very wriggly & we now have a name!! Just the one so he'd better look like the name we've chosen. Off to meet some local home birth mums this morning then cutting our hair cut this afternoon then really need to get some more school work done!
Hi to all & baby out vibes to Browny x

Bunny - hope your first day back at work goes ok. Fingers crossed baby has moved into a better position.
RF - twitchy legs don't sound very pleasant but at least the headaches appear to have gone. Hope first day back at school goes well for I tomorrow.
BK - enjoy meeting some other home birth mums this morning, hope you manage to get some more school work done later.
My delivery arrived just after 8am! I was just getting out of the shower when F runs in shouting " mummy, mummy doorbell!" and then it rings again so I quickly threw my pjs back on and raced to lean out of the window. I said I'd be 2 seconds so ran downstairs but then couldn't find a key to unlock the door! Eventually got it all sorted but blimey was that a bit of a panic lol.
Baby out vibes to you Browny x

*saunters back in with head hung in shame*
Ladies, ladies. Not sure if any of you will remember me! I used to be on MD a lot and then started a new job and it all went a bit Pete Tong. Long hours + very busy = not enough time to get on MD. Bad Gavi! Anyhoo, I am now on mat leave and so will hopefully be around a bit more!
Mrs L - I have an NCT Bf workshop but it was only 2 hours. I probably won't BF anyway so would never have bothered with a 4 hour workshop! Hope all is OK with the base!
WG - hope your cold eases. What cover did you go for on the Poddle Pod? I can't wait to use ours!
Bunny - glad you like your HV - I haven't met ours yet, should I have done? Hope the next few weeks passes quickly for you. Is baby still breech?
TRF - ahhhh, loving the personalised Xmas stuff! Make sure you flash!
BK - look forward to hearing the name. We still don't have one for either flavour but I am sure it'll work out OK!
Lots of baby out vibes for Browny - I am her PP, so I am sitting glued to my phone for any updates! She was having a few contractions last night but nothing regular, so I am hoping things ramp up for her soon.
AFM - So I am full term, on Mat Leave and just can't wait to meet baby! Just a 'small update of what's been going on whilst I have been away, I had a growth scan at 32+4 (to check baby was growing OK, as I have Crohn's and it can lead to low birth weights). In fact, baby was measuring super big and was breech so I had to have a GTT just in case (that was clear!). Then at my scan last week at 36+4, baby was no longer breech (hurrah) but their growth had slowed down which concerned the consultant. So I have to go in for a few CTGs this week and another growth scan on Thursday. If they're not happy with the growth, they might induce me 'sooner rather than later'. I think they just messed up the measurements at 32+4 but we shall see!
Sorry, that was a bit 'me me me' but wanted to get you all up to speed, now that hopefully I shall be back on here a bit more! x

MrsL - I've gone for one of the new half and half covers. I think the one I've got is called Flower Power. I haven't put it on yet but it already looks much nicer in the flesh. Hope the car seat base isn't damaged or anything.
Gavi - hello! Welcome back. I bet you're glad to be finished work now and able to take it a bit easier. Hope your CTGs and growth scan go well this week.
I've done my ironing :-) yay! I'm looking forward to having a proper look at my Poddle Pod tonight, I'm waiting until F is in bed as he has already tried to lay down on it!

Evening ladies! I've also been a really bad MD poster. I am back to taking the train to and from work this week so I'll be able to reply more often.
Mrs L - I had a 2 hour BF class with NCT, i found it interesting and could have easily filled up more time. I hope you find your class beneficial too.
WG - Pleased to see your cold is at last easing. I really hope you're not under the weather again before baby comes along, you've suffered enough!
Yay to receiving your poddle! They look great! I cant decide between a poddle or a sleepyhead... Both relatively similar!
Bunny - I hope your first day back at work was OK. How did your MW appt go?
RF - Enjoy your shorter weeks at work. I wish I had done this!
BK - Great that you've chosen a name! :) Hope you enjoyed meeting other home birth mums. How did you find it?
Gavi - Welcome back!I hope the scans go well this week. have they said how much earlier they'll induce you?
AFM - Work is still full on and I'm struggling now. my manager has been off for 4 weeks, so it's been me and one other member of management, I feel exhausted! only 10 days of work to go though :) I also may be induced, I have GD so they are concerned that baby may get too big. Currently he/she is measuring fine but they've said its very likely that I'll not go beyond 39 weeks. I find out in 2 weeks what the plan is... Its certainly made me realise that I had to pull my finger out and buy the crib and other bits! The nursery is almost complete and I now feel a bit more prepared. As much as you can be anyway.
