Has anyone noticed with their LO that more sleep in the day affects their night time?
Z is 10 months and when I was home she'd only have 2 x 1/2 naps per day, and sleep 12 hours at night, happy as larry in the day so didnt seem to need more. I've been back at work 3 weeks and her sleep has been terrible, waking through the night, not settling back down, waking earlier and earlier for the day. I've noticed from her nursery diary that she can have up to 1.5-2 hours nap of a morning and up to an hour in the afternoon and I'm wondering if this is a factor?
She slept through over the weekend, and will see what happens tonight after nursery today, then I might get them to restrict her naps?

It could be a factor or it could be a bit of a phase. I guess it's one of those trial and error type situations. F decided that he didn't want a daytime nap anymore at around 20/21 months. At that point it wasn't having an impact on his sleeping at night, he just point blank refused to nap and I gave up trying in the end. Now he only naps if we're in the car or the 2 days he goes to nursery - I asked then to limit his nap to an hour because we find of he sleeps in the day now, he just isn't tired enough when it comes to bedtime. He's coming up to 28 months.

I've no experience yet but we find the time of S's afternoon nap affects his sleep. What time does she wake from her afternoon nap at nursery?
Could it be a separation thing? She's waking during the night to make up for seeing you a bit less during the day?
Some babies just need less sleep over 24 hours - S has always been one if them *sigh* and I continue to be envious of MrsB's M's sleep habits!

I know around that time regardless of what sleep O had during the day, his night sleeps went to pot for a little while. It could also be related to you going back to work. As with MrsB I always found the less daytime sleep he had the harder night we were in for so it doesn't necessarily correlate x

Thanks ladies. I'm still not sure! Three hours worth of naps at nursery yesterday and she was up and down in the night, was going to ask them to restrict naps today just to see but she's woken up a right grump with nappy rash so I've left it for today.
