I'm starting to look at booking NCT classes and I notice that on the quote for the class cost they include £40 for membership. It says that I can choose not to become a member and not pay the £40, but I've no idea what the benefit of either being a member/not being a member is? Anyone any ideas?

I chose not to have membership i only seemed to get you a monthly newsletter type thing and early entry to the NCT sales so I decided it wasn't worth the money but that is just my view. The classes though were definately worth it

Thanks drifter, that's what it looked like to me so I was thinking of saving the 40 quid!

Well it helps with their funding to run things like BF advice, baby groups, drop in sessions, toddler mornings etc etc . Like drifter said directly it gets you a newsletter and early entry to NCT sales as everything else is open to all anyway. I've always got in early to NCT sales (before members) as I help out and have just joined the local commitee and am still not a member !

I didn't realise you didn't have to become a member until afterwards. We got in early to an nearly new sale, but that definitely didn't save us £40! I won't renew my membership next year tbh.
