Okay ladies. So I just went to the doctor today and found out that I am 6 weeks pregnant so that would be may the 10th. Well me and my husband were together on that day but on may the 14th we split up and I had sex with another man unprotected and took a plan b test the next day. My question is. Is there anyway I could have gotten pregnant on the day that I had unprotected sex?

Hi Kayla, that very much depends on your ovulation date I would think, do you know when that was? Do you normally have ovulation pain etc?

No I don't. My last period was the first of May. Do you think it's possible it couldn't be my husbands?

gosh love it really could go either way I think. Is your cycle normally regular? How many days?
22/06/2016 at 00:47
It's off and on. Sometimes I have my period twice a month for at least a week

I'm sorry I dont know if you are going to be able to tell then unless you have tests done or a dating scan at least, hopefully someone else will respond if they know more

When was the last time you had sex with your husband?

We have been back together since a couple days after that so every since then.

What was the first day of your last period? Did doctor count from that date to arrive at 6 weeks?
22/06/2016 at 02:15
The first day of my last period was april 30th. And no he didnt
22/06/2016 at 02:32
Ok, the reason I am asking you these questions is because on an average cycle, with the first day of your last period being the 30th of april, ovulation would have been around the time you had unprotected sex with the other guy. But because your cycle is not regular you cant rely on that for sure. To the best of my knowledge doctors normally count from the first day of your last period e.g. 6 weeks from then would mean conception was about 4 weeks ago, around the 25th of may meaning it would be your husbands baby. But if he is saying 6 weeks now since actual conception (8 weeks in usual doctors terms) then conception may have been alot closer to the time you had sex with the other man, especially as dates aren't 100% without a scan. If he didn't count from the 1st day of your last period to arrive at 6 weeks, how did he work it out?

He just did a sonogram and measured it.

Ok would be good if you had said that you knew the date of conception because you had had a scan! Well then you should know whose baby it is going by those dates, all the best

Dating scans are not slways an accurate way of weighing up if the baby is your husband or not the only true way is dna have an amnionesetis however u spell it good luck.

Okay guys so I have another question I just looked at my bank statement and it said I bought the pill on May the 8th and I took it that day I remember now and the doctor is saying I'm six weeks pregnant so that means I would have gotten pregnant around the tenth but me and my husband have intercourse almost every night is there a possibility the plan b could have failed?
22/06/2016 at 22:21
The plan b could have easily failed but its just something u will have to work iut dna is only true way good luck.

You can't exactly know. It depends on your cycle and some external factors. For example, whether you were stressed when you and husband split up. Better have dna testing. Prenatal or after baby is born. If you choose prenatal, have only non-invasive testing, it's accurate, but don't damage baby. If you don't want anybody to know about testing use dna in home test kit https://dnasu.com/product/dna-in-home-test-kit-2/ There are a lot of variants. But be sure that your choice is safe for baby.
