As the title suggests am hoping that i can have some tips to help me have a good nights sleep!!
Have had 2 nights in a row now where i've had about hour and half sleep then i wake and cant seem to get back off again. I know it helping me get used to sleepless nights ahead...
Am waking up so hot and sweaty. Have tried nice bath (in middle of night). Have got lavender oil/burner which i will try later.
    Any suggestions much appreciated.
    Am 34+4 xx:\)

    Hi Lucyloo!

I have been having 3-5 hours per night for 5 weeks now. i have to say that i have a lot of personal stuff going on as well, so once I wake up I have lots on my mind let alone the impending birth and imagining life with my baby!

I have found that over the last 7 days the only nights I have had more than 6 hours is when I have had a bowl of rice crispies/shreddies right before bedtime. I have woken at 8.20am on both occasions and nearly fell out of bed with excitement!! lol

Probably the milk or something. I normally wake up hungry, needing a wee, desperately uncomfortable and stressing over things. I normally get up and go down stairs to watch the tv.

I wish there was more on the box at 3-4am!! I have ended up watching Sky and the baby channels where they show births! probably not the best thing to watch when you want to drift off back to sleep!! never mind!!

Try camomile tea as well, naturally relaxs you.

Hate to say it but you may find this just gets worse. The peeing is the thing that gets me out of bed. I am now peeing every 2 hours or so and combine that with nasal congestion, night sweats and the sound of my own snoring (!)........it doesn't make for a good night's sleep. The only thing that gets me back to sleep is reading a book - usually between 3am and 4am.

sometimes I wake during the night not feeling great so to help me sleep again, I turn on my side light and pick up a book and lie and read that, I find that after a few pages I drift off with the book on top of me, I dont always sleep for very long but i just do it again and it adds up to me getting a couple of hours sleep.

Oh hon, it's so tough. I would say sleep has been terrible for about a week now and i'm 26+1 so not much hope. I always drift on the sofa but get in to bed and am wide awake.
Last night, I got all ready for bed (cats fed/teeth cleaned etc) and went to bed at 10.30 with my suduko book and did that for about half hour. Then when I was a little drowsy I could just drift off.
I must admit the pee's in the night are doing my head in - I must fit 3 in before I actually get to sleep then at least one in the night then I wake up at 7 busting!
I have tried everything but think this is it. I wouldn't mind bu ti'm still working full time which is a nightmare!
