We bought a uplighter lamp for the nursery which had a dimmer & a switch which was next to the change mat. Also my husband bought a dimmer switched for the nursery's main light so that I can turn it right down before turning it on which was perfect for late night feeds.
(ps just looked for the lamp but can't find it, think we bought it from homebase but that was a few years ago now)
Another thing we bought was a night light that is has a motion sensor that we have on the landing so when you walk near it it comes on for a short amount of time which is perfect for peeking on them when you go to bed & for when they're older & being able to see if they're out of their room!!! We have this 1 www.diy.com/.../236199_BQ.prd

Nothing, we have a gro egg but that's not much of a light tbh. We very much separate night and day tbh so keep it dark at night. Our bedroom is quite light so night nappy changes in the newborn days were fine with no light. I bf in the dark too. L (5) has a little clip on torch on his bed now but that's only really been in the last year or so tbh

We've changed our lights to dimmers switches, I prefer them anyway. Took H less than 10mins a light, is this an option?

Thanks everyone. Dimmer switches and night lights will be good options for the nursery but was looking for a bedside option for the first few months.
I've got a bedside cot so I am naively thinking I will be able to serenely feed/ comfort bathed in a glowing light before we both fall peacefully back to sleep... (please no one ruin this illusion for me with talks of all night screaming and bodily fluid ejections, I like my fantasy!)
I do very much like the look of that ikea lamp, thanks JJ.

I see, you want an option for your room. Even though my daughter slept in our room for 6 months I almost always took her in the nursery, where I have a rocking chair, to try to keep myself awake for feeds. Nothing wrong with that picture as that's how I remember a lot of my night feeds (maybe I remember it more fondly than it was!!). I'm sure you can find a lamp with a dimmer for your bedroom. Let us know what you find

I use my phone or one of those clip on lights you get for reading at night. Nothing special.

We got a touch lamp for our bedside which had three different settings on it, so I just used to tap it once to get the lowest light. But then I had to tap it reeeeeally quickly three more times to put it off!
