A few weeks ago I was sat in the cinema I my left hand started to feel numb and I had a tingling sensation in it. It spread up my arm and to the side of my face. It lasted about 20 mins then faded away.
Then last night as I was leaving work I and I have over really light headed and 'out of it'. This is the first time it has happenned during the pregnancy and lasted about an hour. While I was cooking dinner, I got the same numbess from a few weeks earlier in my lip and then all around my mouth then in my left hand. Again it lasted about 20 mins then faded away, as did the lightheadedness. i have no idea if the two are connected.
One of the ladies in the 1st Tri group suggested it could be due to all the maneuvering going on inside, something may have squashed a nerve that caused the numbess. And I was having stretching twinges yesturday morning.
I just wondered if anyone else experienced this during pregnancy or if anyone had any idea what might be causing it?!
I am 12 weeks tomorrow, I have my scan on Thursday, do you think it is worth asking the sonographer?

You can get carpel tunnel when pregnant, earlier on I quite often woke up with a numb hand.
I doubt the sonographer would have a clue to be honest, have you booked in yet? If so maybe just call your midwife to set your mind at rest, or wait until your booking in and ask then.
Good luck with the scan!

Thanks porkchop, I have booked in yes, next appointment is the beginning of July.
I would probably be more concerned if it was happenning more regularly, i might just wait until my next appointment if it doesnt start happenning more.
would just like to know what is causing it!

It's sounds similar to how I feel when a migraine is starting, have yo had a migraine before?

No LR, i've never suffered from migranes and hardly get headaches.
Yesturday i did havd a kind of dull ache or felling of pressure but on my my head made sudden movements like coughing or sneezzing or moving too quickly!
I haev my 12 week scan tomorrow and apparently a midwife will be taking my blood so I will mention it then!
Thanks for your replies!
