Don't think we've had one of these for a while!
We've got a very bare ex-office-future-nursery at the moment - wallpaper all stripped off and a wall knocked down. Next job is for H to level up the brickwork where he knocked the wall down, and brick up the redundant ventilation grill. We have the plasterer book for 8th August to re-skim all walls and replace the plaster on the wall which fell off mid-demolition job, leaving an exposed brick wall.
We've chosen the paints but not bought them yet. The cot is fully sanded and I've started the undercoat; tonight we're going to ikea to buy a set of drawers for remodelling, so this weekend will try and get them sanded as well.
I'm contemplating trying to learn to crochet in order to make some crochet bunting... I think this may not happen!!

Oh goodie! I have just ordered a custom set of etsy (bumper, fabric teddy, blanket and bunting) to base my nursery around. I have 2 inspiration pics attached. I am going for girly but not overly pink!
Cot matress has been bought as there was a sale on and my sister's fiance is stripping, lining and painting the room for free! (he is a painter) as a baby gift! Whoop!
Just having a white cot and a white wardrobe and draws set. We have the stairs bulkhead in the room that makes a big box in the room. Using that as a changing station to put the mat and some storage boxes on.

Outs is still H's office, minus chair and desk, so basically a pile of mess on the floor and windowsill. Apparently he is going to clear it today... We shall see.

Sorry Mrs 50s as you've probably seen this already but any excuse to flash to the others....this is our nursery!

LP- I love your inspiration photos! Lovely mix of girls but not super pink.
We don't have a nursery and this makes me super sad! Need to move house sharpish after baby is here so that I can get decorating :)

Update: hubby has taken down posters and is sanpapering where the bluetak was on the walls. Well, smearing it into the walls more like. Piles of stuff all over floor now, but with added dust.

LP I love your nursery inspiration.
I've started browsing on easy and found some lovely prints I like which I think I'll base the nursery around. They're a pale grey and canary yellow. Is grey too dark /dull for a nursery? I want it to be fairly modern really.

Ours is finished, well as finished as it is likely to be, I guess I should go and take some photos.

Little Pixie, have you looked at Vertbaudet, they have a few bits in your colour scheme. These stickers are fab an would go really well

Imp, I love pale grey. We've chosen grey/blue/lime green colour scheme. I think yellow and grey go perfectly - would have used this for my wedding if H hadn't veto'd yellow.
I'm waiting for delivery of a big tree wall sticker but should be able to flash next weekend, can't wait!

Sounds lovely PW, I'll look forward to your flash!

I agree, yellow and pale grey will be lovely! We're painting all of our furniture pale grey. I'll flash the M&P pics which are our main inspiration!
We're painting 1 wall teal, and the cot will sit against it - like the first pic. The other 3 walls will be white and we'll print stars on 1 of them (opposite the teal wall - the other 2 plain white walls have the door and window in them, and will have any wall hangings). The furniture is all being painted pale grey (a 'colder' grey than above, which is more pale mushroom).
The floor is laminate and we have just bought a green rug - the same shade as the green stars. We've bought one of those ikea sotrage units that you can put solid of soft boxes in, and bought 2 x pink boxes and 2 x blue boxes - again to match the pink and blue stars.
The room will be neutral in a lot of ways (wooden floor, grey furniture, largely white walls) but also with lots of bold and bright colours. Nice and unisex as well! We have the toys shown in the pics (incl. the mobile) and H's parents have bought us the coverlet, but we won't buy the bedding, bumper or bunting as it's £££ for what it is! I have to keep looking at these pics so I'm not too miserable when I see the brick-dust and rubble-filled room...!

I love that mrs 50's, It's really fresh and bright. What type of paint are you using on your furniture?
06/07/2013 at 13:53
We've gone for the water-based, low VOC wood undercoat and paint from the B&Q colours range. It's generally sold as 'quick drying' if it's water-based, and brushes can be washed in water. I did loads of research online first and the difference in constitution of the super expensive specialist baby paints (£40 for 2.5L?!) and B&Q's own was negligible. The cot is the only one the baby might actually chew on / like / touch regularly but I'm still doing all of the furniture with the same paints.

All the office stuff is out of ours now and the walls have been stripped, ready for prep and painting, but I am still thinking about how to decorate. I am currently thinking of an under the sea theme. I want to keep the walls quite plain and then decorate with decals as we will probably want to move house in the next 2-3 years and I don't think I can face having to paint over lovely murals or paint effects.

She has just moved into big girl bed in new bedroom but this was how nursery looked up until a couple of weeks ago

Mrs50s I love the M&P's photos!
We havent even decided which room in the new house will be the nursery yet!
I have spotted this wallpaper in B&Q that I quite like though, or maybe natural paint on the walls and the own boarder!
