So I am feeling the need to rejuvenate my wardrobe now the sunshine is out. I am currently in work trousers, a long sleeve top and a cardy. That is not rocking the summer that seems to be outside!
I;m going to have a rummage at home what I already have but wondered what yu ladies would do - I am currently 17 weeks with a smallish bump. I'm due in August. Do I get stretchy stuff that will see me through, or just try and manage with what I've got until I get bigger?
And what would you buy?

I have been thinking about this today! I am 12+2 but all my current work trousers are too tight and I have to undo a button when I sit down, which isn't ideal so at the minute I tend to wear dresses with maternity tights as normal tights were leaving marks on my tummy or leggings.
I was thinking about the summer and what to buy....didn't know whether I could get my hands on some maternity black crop smart trousers and may be also some elasticated skirts or something
I have a pair of maternity jeans which only have a little band on them, which are great for now but when I went shopping I tried on a pair of maternity work trousers and they had a massive band on them which clearly is no good at the moment as I only have a small bump. Think I may just buy a pair of work trousers that are the next size up to put me on till bump gets bigger and will fit big banded trousers haha. Will be good to see what other ideas people have xx

I have some maternity jeans and the bump panel (aka baby tent as the hubby calls it!!) I currently pull up and tuck the remainder in.
I've got some maternity trousers for work which are supposed to be a size 10 (Mama's and Papa's) but they feel so bloomin baggy on my bum and tum!
Lets hope we can get some answers eh Ang?

If you buy some maternity wear... I.e. From Next it has adjustable waistlines - these are buttons inside the waist of the trousers that can be loosened. I started off at a size 12 but have fitted in size 14 maternity wear throughout. Best buy was some leggings that are over the bump from Next as they are comfy to wear.
another good thing is to look at outlet clothes or clearance clothes online for maternity clothes... Usually cheaper and you can buy a few pairs. Top wise I am almost a 16 by the end but a 14 again fitted comfortably throughout... Just the last month or so I have needed bigger.
hope that helps!

Sorry if this is a daft question but do all maternity tops have extra fabric sewn in? I dont particularly need extra room now and I'd like to not have to buy a whole new load of clothes again as I get bigger.

To be honest the extra material is kinda unnoticeable as it just looks like nice little ruffles... I loved maternity tops as I could comfortably wear clothing that didn't look baggy and I could easily grow in to it. Go to H and M, Mothercare, New Look, Debenhams, Matalan, Next etc... Try some on - it's not as bad as you think and people will understand that your pregnant. You can get lovely dresses, tops and everything that have a small amount of extra material in them - if your really conscious of the extra material try a nice jacket, scarf or cardigan to hide it.

Thanks Charlaine. I'll give it a bash. Today I've got a dorothy perkins tunic style dress with leggings and a long cardy on. Feel much less bag lady like. I was forever pulling my tousers up yesterday although they say theyre size 10 maternity.... The bump panel I had to fold down as it I pulled it up, I would have looked like I was wearing a boob tube style jump suit lol
