I know this has been done before but I can't find it. Are grobags from sainsburys or mothercare as good ones the actual grobag ones?
we were bought 2 grobags as a present but one is at nine one at mums so considering buying a spare. Not sure whether to pay grobag price or get one when in out?

I've always used supermarket ones and never had a problem - as long as they have a tog rating marked on the label, I can't see the issue.

I don't see why not. I've never had an actual Grobag but have had various other makes and they've all been great.

I've never had an actual grow bag. Had a couple from tk maxx but mainly from asda and have always been happy with them. I don't actually understand what the difference is really as the actual grow bags are so much more expensive

I've never bought actual Grobags, they're so expensive!
N has an Asda sleeping bag and one from John Lewis I picked up at a nearly new sale. They've all got tog ratings.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but having bought some 2nd hand gro-bags from a local swap shop which don't appear to have tog ratings on them, I thought I'd compare them to some in stores (I've checked Matalan and M&Co) but all they say is "this sleeping bag is no more than 4.0 tog". That isn't much help! Am I looking in the wrong place?

I have used both own brands (boots, next, ikea) and Grobags and no difference TBH- I got the Grobag from TK max and they were £12.99 so not much in it. The only thing that puts the Grobag slightly up for me was the bit that covers the zip when he's in it so he can't catch it on his arm.

The difference is the prestuds under the arms for the first Size which means they can be used down to 8lb 2 (iirc) )wheras my supermarket ones say 10lb. However I think common sense would stop you putting a baby into a grobag that could potentially cover their head anyway if they could slip so I've been happy with my non branded ones.

I found Sainsburys ones shrunk loads in the tumbler.

Grobags are the originals but doesn't necessarily mean they are any better. I suppose it's like saying are other brands of vacumn cleaner as good as Hoover ...
