F just fell down the side of the bed! Luckily there was a pillow there. I turned my back for a second and he managed to get from near the middle to down the side and I have no idea how. Do I need to take him to the hospital? He seems ok. What am I looking out for?
I have now pushed the bed right against the wall so it won't happen again. I feel so stupid.

How old is F? I wouldn't worry too much if there was a pillow there. I think rolling off of the bed is a right of passage. Every baby does it at least once I'm certain. Isla did it 4/5 times, you'd think I'd have learnt after the first time but it happens so quickly. You think they'll be ok for a minute whilst you turn your back. Just keep an eye on him. x

You think that's bad? Millicent had a coffee flask dropped on her head yesterday to celebrate her 3 week birthday. Now I know what people mean when they say babies have a different cry for pain.

I posted on here when undid the same thing. She hit the table on the way down and had a big swollen lump on her face! Hit keep an eye out for unusual behaviour, odd cries, vomiting or extreme drowsiness.

Jemima fell off the bed on holiday. And banged her head. On a tiled floor. I felt retched but, looking back, that is nothing compared to what she has done since! What AR said about symptoms, lethargy, not being able to rouse them etc. Other than that, chalk it up to experience.

Thanks all. He's 4 1/2 months and he seems ok, only cried for a minute. Think he was shocked but will keep a very close eye on him.
Not sure what I'm going to do with him, this afternoon he sat bolt upright in his bouncer and refused to lie back so that is obviously no longer safe. Where do you put babies who can sit up but not stay upright for a long time? He has a playnest but seems to get quickly frustrated in it. How on earth am I going to get shower now?

Maybe try a door bouncer, attach it to frame of bathroom door while you are in shower? Not sure how young they are recommended from though.
M is another that fell off bed, most of them do it I'm sure x

Jumperoo. A bit pricey new but can normally pick up for £40 or less second hand.

We have a jumperoo but it is downstairs. He'll just have to deal with being in the nest and I'll have to learn to shower extra quickly! Suppose it'll be even worse when he is on the move :)
