Just walked into the living room after a toilet break to find E letting M suck on her banana... He had a little chunk in his mouth that I fished out, but it's possible he swallowed some of it. I didn't shout at her like I really wanted to, but explained he ONLY has milk until he is bigger. He's 15 weeks today so no where near weaning age. I know he will probably be ok (unless he has an allergy!) and I'm overreacting, but it's made me quite upset with her.

The joys of being baby number two I think!! Bless her, at least she is sharing and it wasn't easter egg!!

Leila had a lick of a peanut butter sandwich at 12 weeks! Toddler led weaning haha! These things happen chick.
L was fine and M will be too (as you know, allergies don't usually show at first exposure anyway it's usually second or subsequent). Try not to be too upset with her she was only trying to share, in her little world she was just being a good big sister. No harm done just forget it and move on. xx

I hadn't thought about her sharing! I feel mean now!

Oh gosh no I didn't mean to make you feel bad Hun, just showing you her perspective. She doesn't really understand why she shouldn't share, she likely just thought this is really good I bet M would like some too! That's what T did. Wasn't trying to make you feel bad, just highlight the positive in it, that she was being a fab big sis (even if it was in the wrong way) x

You didn't I feel mean for not thinking about it from her perspective x

We had a similar situation here only swap the toddler and the banana for a MIL and a mini cheddar!

Oh dear HT, oh dear...
01/04/2013 at 11:39
HT - that's brilliant! WS - that's my fear, luckily J isn't very generous when it cones to his food!

Aww I wouldn't worry WS, it really won't do him any harm. At least it wasn't something like a boiled sweet that he might have choked on, a banana is pretty innocuous and these things happen.
I'd be furious about the MIL/mini cheddar situation though!

Annie had her first taste of cheese and pickle the other day after Nicky gave her a big open mouthed kiss on the lips halfway through his lunch. The worrying thing is she actually seemed to like the taste on her lips :-/

Ill have to insist she eats all snacks in her high chair rather than her little table.

She was just doing the banana test early ! It could have been worse, at least banana is healthy and I think KT's point that she was sharing is a really good one.
I don't think Zoe is going to be a worry on this front. She announced the other day that I will have to tell Noodles off if she tries to eat Zoe's chocolate. I said I wouldn't tell her off if it was the first time I would just explain. The response was "well if you don't tell her off then I will because babies are only allowed milk".
