I've always had painful periods but it was always mild. When I had J the pain got slightly worse but manageable. Since having A the pain has got worse again to the point where it stops me and I have to kind of breathe through it like a contraction. i like to think I have quite a high pain threshold. Paracetamol has never worked for me. I have some cocodamol in but I don't like taking it as out makes me really sleepy.
what else can I take?

Ibuprofen. Just the basic stuff, it is exactly the same as nurofen or feminax.
Take it by the clock on the painful days, don't wait until the pain returns. And take it with food.
If round the clock ibuprofen isn't enough, try and combine it with paracetamol round the clock too. If even together they don't do the trick I think a trip to your doctor might be the best. They can either give you a stronger painkiller to try that hopefully won't make you sleepy, or may discuss a mirena coil if you're open to that option. No need I keep suffering though.

Thanks ducky. I'll try the combination. I'm not keen on the coil to be honest but I'll see how it goes
