I'm just after some reassurance really. Especially if you had an early scan between 7-8 weeks please can you share your scan photo?
I had an early scan today and the sonographer was really pleased with size of baby and that he had a wonderfully strong heartbeat but she was concerned she was getting some 'internal echos within the gestation sac' - she's said that it could be nothing and told us not to worry. I've a follow up NHS scan/appointment on Monday (I was hospitalised last couple of days with severe dehydration due to hyperemesis gravidarum) so she's said to see what they say then.
I just wondered if anyone else had ever had any slight echos coming back within the sac or if everyone elses scan has always shown a clear black sac. Everything I've read online suggests if it is inside the sac itself then there shouldn't be a baby or a heartbeat so it's confusing!

Hi didn't want to read and run but not sure how helpful I'll be.
I've had numerous early scans some good, some terrible. All I can say is if at 7-8 weeks you have a heartbeat and it's strong then that's brilliant.
I had 2 pregnancies where I had scans around that time without a heartbeat that obviously were MC's, I had one at 7 weeks that had a weak, slow heartbeat that ended in a MC. The only one that had a strong heartbeat at 8 weeks is now nearly at term so if it was me even with all my history, I'd be really, really hopeful. Incidentally this one is the only one I had Hyperemisis Gravidarum with too, and they told me horrid as the experience was/and still is it was a great sign that the pregnancy was viable.
I haven't got any pictures from the first few scans for obvious reasons, but I have for this one. The sac was clear (I can't find this scan photo I think at 7w6d at min but have the one from 6w 6days), but don't tie yourself in knots over it. I'm really glad you have a scan on Monday and don't have to wait ages for another (although it will feel like forever) hopefully it will settle your fears. Good luck xx

Quick hug to you - most important thing is they could see the baby and a strong heartbeat

I really hope its just one of those things PS. You must be really worried but try and focus on the fact there is a good sized baby with a strong heartbeat in there. The fact you have been so ill is a good sign too. Keep us updated.
Edited to remove pic.
This was 7+4.

Thank you for your replies and scan pics ladies. They look very different to mine so I'm guessing they were external scans? As I was dehydrated and didn't have a full bladder they did an internal for mine. This is baby as per my scan last night. He's dating as 7+5 which is bang on what I'd worked it out as. He had a wonderfully clear and strong heartbeat and was wiggling around in there. It's the misty type echo around him that the sonographer was concerned about as she's never seen it before with a healthy baby present apparently. Just gotta hope it's one of those things and it disappears of it's own accord. His amniotic sac is clear on the scan it's the gestational sac that's not. This little one is causing me no end of worry/problems already!!

Sorry to hear you've been suffering so much PS.
Here is my scan from 8+3.
Good luck for Monday, sounds like you have a happy baby in there so try to not worry too much xxx

P/S - I checked through my phone in the early hours when I saw your post but remembered I didn't take a photo of my one at 7+1 because it (to me) showed so little. I was way more concerned about the heartbeat because everything I read about successful early scans etc hinged on that. And yes, mine was an external. Sorry I can't help. Didn't know you were poorly, hope you are feeling better very soon x

Mine was internal

Mine was internal x

Ohh okay! They look 'further away' than mine which is why I thought it was different. Just ignore me!!
I had a look at mine also internal but mine is similar too the other ladies, so won't post it. I am sorry to hear that they have said this too you and left you to worry until monday.
Fingers are tightly crossed that it's going to be nothing to worry about xx

I will try to post a picture of mine this evening that was taken at 7 weeks internal - mine would be similar looking to knees.
Try not to worry and focus on the strong heartbeat! x

Having had so many early scans I thought it might help settle you by saying all of mine have been internal. The size of the photo is dependant on how far they're 'zoomed' in when they press click iyswim. The baby is mm long so they have to really zoom at that stage to get what they need.
Oh and after searching the house for the 7w7d scan I realised we didn't get a picture at that scan because I was too busy crying in happiness that the bleed wasn't an MC.

No advice/knowledge PS but surely a strong heart beat is a positive thing.

I'd 2nd what BLL said and can echo her experiences. I had early scans with both of mine due to my previous history, both were internal, and both showed a heart beat. My other experiences were empty sacs or womb (ectopic). Are you due another scan or were they happy to leave it until the 12wk point? X

Sorry for being unclear. This scan was a private one we booked before I was ill, the nhs couldn't scan me whilst I was admitted as the staff member was off or something so I've got an NHS scan on Monday morning. So at the moment as far as NHS are concerned I've not yet had a scan/seen baby.
