Hey all just wandering if any of u are concerned about the toxoplasmosis! Have stopped changing the cat litter but the cats are always on my bed and I often wake up to them asleep next to me on my pillow!

The risk is very low and it's mostly just scaremongering. I worked with cats when I was pregnant, which involved cleaning litter trays etc. As long as you practice good hygiene there's no reason to change anything. To catch toxoplasmosis your cats would have to be carrying it, which you would know as it tends to make them a bit ill! My H would never do the trays so I continued to do them at home throughout pregnancy too. Wash your hands well (which I'm sure you do already when handling the trays!) but don't worry

Ah that's that's good to know! There does seen to be a lot of that when u read what to do and what not to do! Hubby is happy to do the cat litter which is great but I love a cuddle with my cats thei my babies..ATM! Lol x

My H does the trays now but I don't worry about sitting with the cats etc. I've owned cats most of my life so hopefully immune.

H did the tray when I was pregnant. I've had cats my whole life though so I would've thought I'd be immune.
Just make sure you wash your hands before eating etc.

H did the tray while I was pregnant and we brought disposable gloves which I used on the rare occasion I had to do it an just practised good hygine (which I did when tray changing etc any way). apart rom that just hand washing after stroking etc

My H did 90% of tray changes when I was preg but other than that nothing changed. I also often had a cat on my head and didn't think anything if it. I used anti bac gel tons in preg just to be extra germ free.

I didn't do the tray at all when pregnant but the cats still slept on the bed, mostly on my pillow too. didn't occur to me that that would be a risk.

I worked with cats while pregnant with A. I practised good hygiene. Wore gloves when changing litter trays and all was fine.

My H does all the poop scooping! (I'm going to see if he'll continue while I'm feeding too... ;) ) I still give my babies kisses! I couldn't go nine months without cat cuddles!
