So when I saw my MW at my 25 week appointment, I explained about the terrible pains I am getting in my lower back and hips. She said she would refer me for physio which I thought oh great. So I get my letter through the post and it is for a "one of group session for women with pelvic/back/groin pain in pregnancy" and when I called up to book myself on, the lady said something about the "PGP group" I asked what she meant and she said the pelvic girdle pain class. I explained my MW said she didnt think it was SPD and the lady said I think thats just what they call the group now. Have any o you ever had a group session for physio and did you find it of any use? Was a bit disappointed as thought it would be a proper physio appointment, not a class.

You will attend the group session first, she will talk to you about different ways to help with the pain and give you a few techniques to try at home. If that doesn't help you will then need to call back up a couple of weeks later and book your one to one sessions. I have suffered with pgp in all 4 of my pregnancy and the physio helps loads x

I dont know if it's defo SPD as the MW checked my pubic bone and it doesnt hurt when pressure is applied. I had a car accident last summer and she thinks it could be that, plus the fact I'm petite.

Spd is in the front of your pelvis and pgp is the lower back and hip area, I don't get any pain what so ever at the front. I would go to the group session and talk to the physio taking the group x

Just had a read and from what I can see, it does sound more like PGP as the pain is right hip on my hip joint and at the top of my bum.

Yeah that sounds like pgp. Hopefully once you start phsio you will get a bit of relief from the pain x

Its generally at it's worst if I am stood for long periods or been up and about and walking. I;m quite active and can;t sit still at the best of times so it's not nice
