Hope everyone is keeping well.
At my last doctors appointment they noted that the placenta was down at the bottom of the womb - they said not to worry, that it could move. At yesterdays appointment - 26 weeks its still there. I don't know how much is covering the cervix. After reserching there seems to be 2 possible cases - either a bit is covering the cervix meaning it could still move or its totally covering the cervix which means - if it does'nt move - a C-section is only possible.
Does anyone have any experience of this? I read that bleeding can be a side effectand the womb grows and lengthens.... any info or stories welcome

I had a grade four placenta praevia, so completely covering the cervix. I had a couple small bleeds then a larger one at 37+4 and they delivered C that day.
Try not to Google as I terrifiedy myself and every experience is different. Mine was most severe grade and I know people who had low lying placentas that moved. They waited till 36 week scan to confirm it hadnt moved and a section date was booked after that.
Hope yours moves and you have no bleeding x

I have this but as this is my first pregnancy I dont know if what I am experiencing is due to it or normal pregnancy feelings.
The head is right on my bladder and the baby feels really low down - I have been referred to physio for SPD and back pain.
I have had no bleeds as yet (25 + 4).
I have no idea of my grade etc. A friend had a low lying placenta but at 38weeks it had moved enough for a vaginal birth and that is what she had so I am not going to think too much about it, what will be will be.

Thanks for the replies - I just hope everything stays quiet and I don't get any bleeds!!! Hope they can see where exactly it is at the next appointment in 4 weeks time - then I'll be 29 weeks

Sue, I was scanned at 28 weeks and they could tell severity of grade at that point, so hopefully you'll be in a similar position x

Thats good to know weekender - my notes say to get checked at 34 weeks but I knew earlier that would be good.

I had it, my placenta was just touching my cervix. It was seen at the 20 week scan and I had some minor bleeding at 24 weeks which they put down to that.
At my private 3d scan, she had a little look and it had moved slightly and by the time I went for my 36 week placenta location scan it was fine, completely out of the way.
They will be able to tell you more at your next scan so try not to worry too much about it until then, it's quite common.

Sorry, meant to say that my 3d scan was at 28 weeks, so similar timing to your next scan x

I had a low placenta when pg with J, I had no bleeds, and placenta had moved when I was next scanned (around 34 weeks I think it was)
