Just debated whether or not to write this as emotions more than a bit all over the place, but here goes. ..........
Am 5 + 3 today and yesterday morning woke up needing to wee and straight away noticed a sort of pulling throbbing pain in my right hand side, i say pain it didn't really hurt it was just a 'new' feeling. Despite a busy morning it stayed with me all morning and through the whole day, however didn't stop me doing anything, i called the midwife to change my booking in appointment and mentioned it to her and she advised i saw the doctor. Typical i couldn't get an appointment yesterday and was trying to convince myself this is normal and as this is a first pregnancy i am imagining it. Took another CB digital and now reads 3+.
Fast forward to today pains not really there however got an appointment with new young doctor, explained symptoms, he had a poke and a prod, no real pain unless he almost did a handstand on my tummy, i weed in a pot and he confirmed i was pregnant, took blood pressure which was pretty high and has told me i need to go to hospital today to be checked out.
H can't escape work till two without a huge drama so sitting stressing, anyone got positive stories or able to give me an idea of what to expect at the hospital?

I don't have any experience of ectopic pregnancies but did have some bleeding early on at 5+6. I was referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit and they did blood tests, urine sample and were also able to fit me in for an ultrasound (at my hospital, sometimes they ask you to come back another day if they are too busy). The ultrasound showed a sac with a fetal pole but it was a little too early to detect a HB so I went back 10 days later and saw the HB and everything was ok. They scanned my ovaries as well as uterus to confirm no ectopic though.
I would expect similar at the hospital for yourself - it may be too early to detect a HB (usually shows around 6 weeks I think). They will scan to make sure that everything has implanted in the right place.
Hope this helps, will be thinking of you sending vibes that all is ok. Let us know how you get on x

Ah pp no experience but please try not to worry (I know easier said than done) we have all sorts of wierd and wonderful things going on in our bodies at the moment that will feel strange. It's likely to be absolutely nothing but its good that they're checking things out and keeping an eye on you.
Lots of vibes and hand holding heading your way xxx

i have no experience with Etopic, however i found out at 4+3 and i have had some really strange pains since, ive had pulling, stabbing, period type pains, had a scan at 6+1 and all ok, then convinced myself something had happened because kept getting pains, had another scan at 9+1 and all ok, try not to panic, i know it is scary x

I was getting mild period type pains early on, then I was getting a stitch type pain in my left hip. I didn't think anything of it until H made me phone the doctor and they were concerned as it was only on one side. I got an appointment at the doctors for the same day and they referred me for a scan, as thought it may have been ectopic, the next day. Everything was fine. I was just over 7 weeks and saw HB. I think many of these are aches and pains are completely normal but definitely best to get anything you are unsure of checked out.
Hope everything goes okay. Keep us updated xx

No experience with ectopic but I did have a scan at EPU when I had bleeding at 7+3. The regular scan couldn't pick anything up so they did a scan using an internal 'wand'. They did pick a empty sack measureing 5weeks with this. Just be prepared for an internal scan given you are only 5 weeks. They also scanned my tubes & ovaries looking for possible ectopic.

I've not had an ectopic either PP but wanted to say I was worried about the samething early on with this pregnancy as all my 'pains' and feeling were all on one side and I started worrying it might be ectopic (to be fair I think I was worrying about everything). Once I'd noticed the feeling were on one side it was hard not to think about it. I did speak to my midwife and she said the feelings were 'normal' and to call her back if they got worse. I then had bleeding at 6 weeks and was taken for a scan the next day and everything was where it should be and we saw at heartbeat (I was 6+1).
I hope all is ok and you get some reassuring news today xx

I found out at 4weeks, I had a lot of severe pains in my left hand side over the following weeks, I thought maybe implantation or growing. I hope all goes well for you at the hospital.

I had an ectopic pregnancy 11 years ago. And the pain was like nothing I had ever experienced, I couldn't even stand straight. I was also bleeding a lot. However they couldn't see anything I was sent home for 2 weeks in real pain until they confirmed it was ectopic. Although with this pregnancy that is fine so far, I have had all manner of pulling and pains.

I had a similar pain with my last pregnancy at around 5 weeks. I went to the GP who thought it could be ectopic and referred me to the EPU. I was scanned at 5+5 but it was too early to see anything apart from a sac and a yalk in the right place. so was scanned a week later and there was a blob and a heartbeat. That little blob is currently 14 months and wolfing down a snack.

Similar to vlvixon, i had an ectopic which miscarried at 5+6, the pain was excruciating and made me throw up, and I couldn't lay with my legs out flat, had to keep them bent. In the early stages of my second pregnancy I had all sorts of period like, occasional stabbing pains and popping like sensations, I was terrified it would be another ectopuc but ASN early scan at 7 weeks showed all was OK and in the right place. G is now nearly 9 months and upstairs having a nap

Thanks for all the vibes and advise guys, muchly appreciated.
Spent a couple of hours in the EPU yesterday afternoon, its a ward filled with amazing doctors and nurses, but the other people in there left a lot to be desired it was a bit like an episode of shameless.
Any how, the lovely doctor examined and poked and prodded and did an internal and took some blood, to do a scan my bloods need something to be over a thousand for them to expect to see anything. They sent me home to await a call with blood results. They have called this morning and i am booked in for a scan tomorrow morning i will be 5+5. Emotions still very all over, the pain has vanished but i dare not get my hopes up.
Thanks again guys and will update again. xx

Fingers crossed for you x

Hope everything is ok.
I have a higher chance of ectopic due to endometriosis, scar tissue etc and was told if a pregnancy was ectopic I would know all about, not cope with the pain. So hopefully this is a good sign for you x
