Hi, hopefully you can all help, I apologise now for the rambling nature of this post but Im finding it so hard to construct fluid thoughts at the moment. I have been trying to conceive for a while now. A little over 5 weeks ago, I was put on northestirone to stop my period whilst on holiday but the doctor said it would still be possible to conceive and he saw no issues with trying. I took it for 4 weeks. Whilst on it, I became pregnant but didn't find out until a few days ago. As soon as I found out, I began googling what would happen to the baby and stumbled upon a few posts from other forums that said 'the baby will be flushed out'. I've been to the doctor and its a definite pregnancy but due to a language barrier, he couldn't answer my question. Im of course extremely excited but also I am terrified that there will be a bleed from the northestirone and I will lose the baby. I came off of the tablet about 8/9 days ago. Will I lose the baby? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question!

Hi nimbus, goodness what a worry for you! My main concern here is that you were unable to get the info you wanted from your doctor because of a language barrier. I work as a nurse in a doctor's surgery and I think that if it one of our gps had any concerns about your pregnancy then they would phone a gynae consultant for advice. Did your Dr do anything like that?
Have you stopped taking the northisterone now ? Also, reassuring that the doctor who prescribed them to you knew of your intention to conceive and didn't set a problem in you taking them. Xxx
