We've just been talking here at MadeForMums HQ about how different it was for us when we told friends and relatives we were expecting a second (or third) child.
First time round, there was huge excitement and general shrieking and crying, but next time round, it was all a bit meh. In fact, I think my own mother's first response to my second pregnancy was, 'Again?'
If you're had more than one child, or are pregnant with your second, did you find it was like that for you? Was the second (or third) pregnancy announcement a bit of a let down?
Do let us know by adding a post to this thread. We'd love to hear about your experiences on this one!

When I got pregnant after my miscarriage my mum replied with "again" when I told her, I know it has nothing to do with subject but reminded me of my mums reaction to second pregnancy x

Our first was met with shock and in some cases horror as we were only 18
Our second was the usual ' yay' reactions
Our third was the ' again' reactions
Our fourth ( cought on pill) was omg !!! Then bet its cuz want a girl after 3 boys!
Our fifth was omg don't you have a TV!
Our sixth we were met with lots of omg! And couple crazy remarks, one said rediculous in these times to breed so much! This pg ended at 8 wks in m/c
This pg we are not announcing til 12+ weeks so stand by lol

Arf at 'don't you have a TV', busymamma - that really made me lol!
But wow at the breeding remark - it's amazing how people feel it's OK to say these things, isn't it?

Yep, thing is we have our oldest at 17 and youngest Is 4 so not like I've done five in seven yes, its been five kids over 3 decades lol first in 1998, three in the noughties and one in 2011, they are all polite and well behaved, well dressed and have excellent manners ( well for the most part)
I manage our income very closly to make the most of every penny and not run up debt and i cook from scratch as it's cheaper, but its still not enough for some folk who think we are some sort of lower class as we have so many kids.
But....to the negitive ones ( strangely theyre usually women with only one child) to them I simply say if you had my man in your bed every night - you would be exactly the same ! That usually shuts them up lol

Aw, I'm so sorry Charrz91 and Rach1986: funny how mums can sometimes say EXACTLY the wrong thing, isn't it? (makes notes for future)
