hi lauren... So sorry for your loss... I had a missed miscarriage too in Jan just like you so know how hard that can be As its such a shock when you had no knowledge that something was wrong.
I'm assuming you had a d & c or medication to induce the miscarriage? have your doctors been monitoring your hcg levels as they fall back down to zero? The reason i ask is that if a pregnancy test is reading 1-2 weeks... That would suggest 1-2 weeks since ovulation.... It's certainly not impossible to ovulate that quickly after a miscarriage & some women have gone on to get pregnant again within weeks of m/c... But it could also be that the test you have just done is still picking up hcg left in your system from the previous pregnancy... With both of my miscarriages it took weeks for my levels to come back down to zero
so... If the docs were monitoring your hcg levels post procedure & they returned to zero... Or you in the meantime you did a negative hpt then that would mean that the positive result you have now is a new pregnancy. However... If you did not have a negative test between your procedure & now, you cannot be 100% sure that you are pregnant again. At this early stage they prob would have trouble seeing anything on a scan but what they could do is quantitative hcg bloodtests a few days apart... If the numbers rise rather than fall then that confirms it is a new pregnancy.
good luck to you!! Wishing you all the best.
let us know how you get on x
