Luke's been invited to a birthday tea tomorrow. I know the mum through a toddler group I help out at. Luke doesn't really know her as he doesn't go (he is at pre school that morning) but she has still invited him to her daughter's birthday, so it's just a little gift I want to buy.
2. voucher for my niece £10?
what would you suggest. she has LOADS of toys (very spoilt by her grandparents) and a wardrobe full of clothes including the next size up (her mum likes to buy up the Next sale). I was thinking of either an argos voucher for garden toys, sand to fill the sand pit up etc, or M&S or a supermarket voucher towards school uniform stuff. Or is that a bit boring?

Carole I'd go with a couple of books (Asda 2 for £7) or a puzzle for the party tomorrow.
I think a supermarket voucher is a bit naff tbh. It's still the childs birthday even if she seems to have everything. Would maybe a lunchbox / lunchbag work, or a dvd, or craft stuff?

thanks Belle *must try harder* Lunch bag is a good idea. I will have a look in Asda tomorrow.

1 - DVD if you can get one cheap enough. Or craft set.
2 - Definitely not supermarket voucher for uniform. Toysrus voucher?

Oh I know what you mean. Kids love random things like lunchboxes, pritt stick, new scissors etc

Miss CV will be 4 soon, and books are always very welcome. I also love Orchard Games and there are a lot around the £7 mark (or £10 for your neice). I know not *all* girls are the same but assuming either / both of them are traditionally girly, age appropropriate jewellery, hairbands, or a purse or bag (including lunch bag) would be very appreciated by Miss CV. Also, jigsaws, and agree with craft stuff, Miss CV is mad for crafts.
If you spot one, or have time to buy online for your niece, Iittle traditional music boxes seem to go down well at that age. I got Miss CV's in the Accessorize sale (about £3!) and have bought others from musicboxworld on Amazon.
Gardening or cooking / baking kits?

thanks everyone. I went to Matalan this morning and bought
1. a 'lolly stick' of hair bands and selection of colourful hair slides (£6)
2. a Minnie Mouse cup, MM mini snack/lunch box and MM towel (£10.50)
I'm hoping she likes Minnie mouse as her invitation was on this theme.

Zoe would love that, and if her invitations were Minnie Mouse then you can guarantee she likes her. I think the hair clips / bobbles is a great idea too.

M would love all those things!
