My friend is 31 weeks preganant, she's just sent me this email and I was wondering whether any of you had experoence of this or advise?
Ok, I have a bit of a weird pain/feeling going on…like a pressure loooow down. I stood up to go to the loo and thought I was leaking something…but when I went to the loo it wasn’t anything scary (I thought blood instantly!), just watery discharge stuff, not LOADS, but a fair bit. I had a wee and now im back at my desk (obviously), but the weird feeling is still there… im not really sure what to do!?

You do get all sorts of weird feelings in late pregnancy, but if she is worried I would suggest she gives her midwife / DAU a ring.

I have said this to her but she cant call til shes on her lunch so was hoping to get some experience!
She doesnt want to be a drama queen but i told her to get over it and call the midwife haha x

I know what she means but the midwives are very good at assessing over the phone, and are also very good at understanding what it is like to be pregnant and how every little twinge can send you in to panic mode. It could just be that baby has moved position.
If she still has liquid leaking it might be worth her putting a pad on in the meantime as if they do want her to go in they will probably want to see that.

I haven't had any leakage, but do feel an awful lot of pressure down below (I'm 33 now) and have done for several weeks, especially if I've been standing for a long time. You do get all sorts of lovely discharge in 3rd tri though. It sounds normal to me, but it's always worth getting checked out.

Pressure alone is v common (had this v early on as O decided to go head down and make himself comfy! Its the discharge I'd be wondering about to ensure wasn't part of her waters? If in doubt ring....something like this can surely overturn waiting til lunch?

Like everyone else has said, the pressure is very common in 3rd tri. I had a leak at about 36 weeks that sounds very similar to your friend. It turned out to just be discharge but I would suggest that she gets it checked out in case it was part of her waters. Will also be worth putting a pad in as my MW said that if a leak is waters it is likely to continue.

She called and couldnt get through to any midwives (in the office in the morning and out on visits in the afternoon) so called the local hospital. They told her to take two paracetomol and have a warm bath and keep an eye on it.
I also thought it could be some waters, but the hospital didnt seem too worried.
Thanks for your replies ladies :)
