Desperately need a new pushchair, currently have a Mamas & Papas Pipi but struggling with it as i find it really difficult to push and steer now E is over 28lbs! Also the seat seems quite narrow and E barely fits in.
What do you have and would you recommend it? I need something fairly durable as I don't drive and use it daily but am on a really small budget so hoping to find something in the sales but just driving myself mad reading reviews!
Help wonderful MD mums!
ETA - Have been looking at a Graco Mirage that's on offer at the minute so any reviews would be helpful if anyone has one?

Do you want a 'stroller' type pushchair? I like maclarens. Apart from tiny babies in prams most of the mums outside the school gates use these types of pushchairs.

just googled your pushchair and it looks like an umbrella style fold like a maclaren.
Hope someone else more knowledgeable is along to give you advice!

Yep a stroller type, need something sturdy as I do a fair bit of walking daily but also comfy as E tends to nap in there. The Pipi is quite flimsy and as he's getting bigger I'm struggling to push and steer it, esp. uphill!

had another thought. what about a 3 wheeler type? Luke is 17kg and 5 years old and I still manage to push him in a Mountain Buggy. I got it second hand for £40. The big air filled wheels means it's less effort to push. It's lovely to steer, has suspension and reclines flat so suitable for naps. It's a big beast though compare to a light weight stroller, so you need to be strong to lift it in and out of a car boot (but you could keep your M&P for short trips like that). I just use mine for the school walk and store it in my porch, and keep a Maclaren Major in my car for other uses.

ps the Graco Mirage you mentioned although it's a bigger seat looks like it's got small wheels so would probably be just as hard to push as your current pushchair.

Another rec for the reworked Zia from nurseryvalue - I had 2 of them (first got lost on a flight) and they were both great, looked almost perfect when we got them.

Thanks Deedee! Just Googled some reviews though and there are lots of reports of toddlers of E's age tipping the Zia over when they're in it?? Have you had anything like that?
09/01/2014 at 21:08
phoebe is a june 2011 baby and has never tipped it. ive pushed both her and her big bro in it on occasion too :-)
